The Duke of Edinburgh, former Colonel-in-Chief, The Queen’s Own Highlanders (Seaforth and Camerons), was represented by General Sir Jeremy Mackenzie (formerly Colonel) at the Funeral of Major General John Hopkinson (former Colonel) which was held a Belmont Abbey, Hereford, this afternoon.
Clarence House
The Duchess of Rothesay, Chancellor, the University of Aberdeen, this afternoon opened the Rocking Horse Nursery and visited the Fluid Mechanics Laboratory at the University of Aberdeen and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the City of Aberdeen (Councillor George Adam, the Lord Provost).
Her Royal Highness afterwards presented a Coat of Arms to the Burgesses of the Guild of the City and Royal Burgh of Aberdeen to mark the Eight Hundredth Anniversary of their Royal Charter, in the Sir Duncan Rice Library.
Buckingham Palace
The Princess Royal, accompanied by Vice-Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, this morning attended a series of lectures while at sea en route to the Falkland Islands.
Her Royal Highness, accompanied by Admiral Laurence, this afternoon arrived in Mare Harbour, Falkland Islands from South Georgia and subsequently attended a Reception for local residents at the Southern Cross Social Club, Fox Bay Village, West Falkland.
The Princess Royal, accompanied by Vice-Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, later met Service personnel at Royal Air Force Mount Pleasant.
Her Royal Highness, accompanied by Admiral Laurence, this evening attended a Dinner given by the Commander British Forces at Mount Pleasant House.

The Duke of Gloucester, President, Cambridge House, this afternoon received Ms Karin Woodley (Chief Executive) and Ms Charlotte Gilsenan (Deputy Chief Executive).
