Buckingham Palace

His Excellency Mr Ahmed Shiaan was received in audience by The Queen today and presented the Letters of Recall of his predecessor and his own Letters of Commission as High Commissioner for the Republic of Maldives in London.

His Excellency Mr Claudio de la Puente was received in audience by The Queen and presented the Letters of Recall of his predecessor and his own Letters of Credence as Ambassador from the Republic of Peru to the Court of St James’s.

Mrs Diana Cunliffe was also received by Her Majesty.

Sir Simon McDonald (Permanent Under-Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs) was present.

Ms Liz Lochhead was received by The Queen this afternoon when Her Majesty presented her with The Queen’s Gold Medal for Poetry.

The Poet Laureate (Professor Dame Carol Ann Duffy) was present.

The Queen held a Council at 5.30pm.

Sir Ronald Weatherup and Sir Reginald Weir made affirmation as members of Her Majesty’s Most Honourable Privy Council.

Mrs Ceri King was in attendance as Deputy Clerk of the Council.

The Rt Hon Christopher Grayling MP had an audience of The Queen before the Council.

The Prince of Wales this morning visited Ashley Church of England Primary School, Ashley Road, Walton-on-Thames, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Surrey (Dame Sarah Goad).

His Royal Highness later visited St John’s Church, Church Avenue, Southall, Middlesex, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London (Mr Kenneth Olisa).

The Prince of Wales, Patron, the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership, this afternoon received Professor Sir Leszek Borysiewicz (Vice-Chancellor, the University of Cambridge).

The Duchess of Cornwall, Royal Patron, this morning visited Royal Trinity Hospice, 30 Clapham Common North Side, London SW4, and was received by Colonel Ewen Cameron (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London).

Her Royal Highness this evening attended a Trinity Hospice Dinner at St James’s Palace.

Her Royal Highness, Patron, Tomorrow’s People, this afternoon attended a Lunch at the House of Lords, London SW1.

The Countess of Wessex, Honorary Trustee, Royal Agricultural Societies of England, later attended a Presentation Ceremony at the House of Lords.

Her Royal Highness, President, Carers Trust, later visited Greenwich Carers Centre, the Stables, 76 Hornfair Road, London SE7.

The Princess Royal, Chancellor, University of London, this afternoon opened University College London Division of Medicine’s Research Department of Respiratory Medicine, Rayne Building, 5 University Street, London WC1.

Her Royal Highness, Renter Warden, the Fishmongers’ Company, this evening attended a Court Dinner at Fishmongers’ Hall, London Bridge, London EC4.

The Duke of Gloucester this morning opened Rugby Health and Wellbeing Centre, Drover Close, Rugby, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Warwickshire (Mr Timothy Cox).

His Royal Highness this afternoon opened the Hope Centre, 8 Newbold Road, Rugby.

The Duke of Gloucester afterwards visited Rugby School, Lawrence Sheriff Street, Rugby.

The Duke of Kent, Chancellor, University of Surrey, this morning visited the new School of Veterinary Medicine, Daphne Jackson Road, Guildford, Surrey.
