Buckingham Palace

Her Honour Mrs Janice Filmon was received in audience by The Queen today upon her appointment as Lieutenant Governor of Manitoba.

His Honour Mr Gary Filmon was also received by Her Majesty.

His Excellency Mr Kamalesh Sharma was received by The Queen upon relinquishing his appointment as Commonwealth Secretary-General when Her Majesty presented him with the Insignia of an Honorary Knight Grand Cross of the Royal Victorian Order.

Mrs Sharma was also received by The Queen.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Colonel-in-Chief, The Royal Canadian Regiment, this afternoon received Major General Ivan Fenton upon his appointment as Colonel of the Regiment, when Major General Fenton presented His Royal Highness with a Fifth Clasp to the Canadian Forces Decoration marking Sixty Two Years of service in The Royal Canadian Regiment.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Honorary Member, Smeatonian Society of Civil Engineers, this evening attended a Discussion Dinner at One Great George Street, London SW1.

Clarence House

The Prince of Wales today visited Cumbria and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant (Mrs Peter Hensman).

His Royal Highness, President, The Prince’s Teaching Institute, this morning visited the Applied Learning Centre, Ullswater Community College, Wetheriggs Lane, Penrith.

The Prince of Wales, Patron, The Prince’s Countryside Fund, later visited Pooley Bridge to see businesses affected by the recent Christmas floods and to inspect a temporary bridge over the River Eamont following the collapse of the original structure.

His Royal Highness, Patron, The Prince’s Countryside Fund, this afternoon met young farmers on a cross-country driving course and viewed a horse logging demonstration at Rookin House, Troutbeck, Penrith.

The Prince of Wales, Patron, English Tourism Week, later viewed a “Go Herdwick” sheep exhibition and met representatives from Cumbria Tourism and Visit England at the Theatre by the Lake, Lake Road, Keswick.

His Royal Highness subsequently attended a Meeting with the Foundation for Common Land at the Theatre by the Lake.

The Prince of Wales, Patron, the Wordsworth Trust, later visited Grasmere Gingerbread Shop and the grave of William Wordsworth in Grasmere.

Kensington Palace

Prince Henry of Wales, with The President of the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal, this morning opened the Girl Summit at the Soaltee Hotel, Crowne Plaza, Kathmandu, Nepal.

His Royal Highness afterwards visited Samo Thimi Technical School, Bhaktapur.

Prince Henry of Wales this afternoon visited Kanti Children’s Hospital, Kathmandu.

His Royal Highness this evening attended a Reception to celebrate the Bicentenary of United Kingdom and Nepal relations given by Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal (His Excellency Mr Richard Morris) at the Residence.

Buckingham Palace

The Earl of Wessex, Trustee, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, today carried out engagements in Buckinghamshire to celebrate the Diamond Anniversary of the Award and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Buckinghamshire (Sir Henry Aubrey-Fletcher, Bt).

His Royal Highness this morning visited Ousedale School the Grove, Newport Pagnell.

The Earl of Wessex today visited RSM UK Group LLP, the Pinnacle, 170 Midsummer Boulevard, Milton Keynes.

The Countess of Wessex, Chairman, Women in Business (promoting The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award), this morning attended a Meeting at 11 Belgrave Road, London SW1.

Her Royal Highness, President, National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children, this afternoon held a Meeting at Buckingham Palace.

St James’s Palace

The Duke of Kent, Deputy Colonel-in-Chief, The Royal Scots Dragoon Guards (Carabiniers and Greys), this evening attended a Dinner in the Officers’ Mess, Leuchars Station, Waterloo Lines, St Andrews, Fife.
