COURT CIRCULAR

Windsor Castle

The Queen held a Council at Windsor Castle at 4.00 p.m.

There were present: the Rt. Hon. Christopher Grayling MP (Lord President), the Baroness Anelay of St. Johns (Minister of State, Foreign and Commonwealth Office), the Rt. Hon. Matthew Hancock MP (Minister for the Cabinet Office and Paymaster General) and the Baroness Stowell of Beeston (Lord Privy Seal and Leader of the House of Lords).

Mrs. Ceri King was in attendance as Deputy Clerk of the Council.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Colonel-in-Chief, The Queen’s Royal Hussars (The Queen’s Own and Royal Irish), this afternoon attended a Luncheon at the Cavalry and Guards Club, 127 Piccadilly, London W1.

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Cambridge, President, British Academy of Film and Television Arts, and Prince Henry of Wales this afternoon visited the set of “Star Wars” at Pinewood Studios, Pinewood Road, Iver Heath, and were received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Buckinghamshire (Sir Henry Aubrey-Fletcher, Bt.).

Buckingham Palace

The Duke of York this morning opened KPMG’s new offices at 1 Sovereign Square, Leeds, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of West Yorkshire (Dr. Ingrid Roscoe).

His Royal Highness later presented The Duke of York Young Entrepreneur Awards at the 3M Innovation Centre, University of Huddersfield, Queensgate, Huddersfield, West Yorkshire.

His Royal Highness this afternoon presented The Duke of York’s Community Initiative Awards at the University of Huddersfield.

Buckingham Palace

The Earl of Wessex, Chairman of Trustees, The Prince Philip Trust Fund for the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, this afternoon chaired a Meeting at St. George’s House and subsequently held a Dinner at Vicars’ Hall, Windsor Castle.

The Countess of Wessex this afternoon visited the Chorister School, Durham, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of County Durham (Mrs. Susan Snowdon).

Buckingham Palace

The Princess Royal, Patron, Scotland’s Churches Trust, this morning attended the Biennial Gathering at St. Mary’s Metropolitan Cathedral, Edinburgh, and was received by Mr. Valentine Tudball (Deputy Lieutenant of the City of Edinburgh).

Her Royal Highness, Chancellor, the University of Edinburgh, this afternoon visited the School of Health in Social Science to mark Sixty Years of Nursing Studies at the University Medical School, Teviot Place, Edinburgh, and was received by Dame Sue Bruce (Deputy Lieutenant of the City of Edinburgh).

The Princess Royal, President, Animal Health Trust, this evening attended a Reception at the Caledonian Club, 9 Halkin Road, London SW1.

Her Royal Highness, Patron, Opportunity International United Kingdom, later held a Dinner at St. James’s Palace.
