COURT CIRCULAR

Buckingham Palace

Mr. Kristan Hopkins MP (Vice-Chamberlain of the Household) was received in audience by The Queen today and presented an Address from the House of Commons to which Her Majesty was graciously pleased to make reply.

The following members of Her Majesty’s Body Guard of the Honourable Corps of Gentlemen at Arms were received by The Queen:

Colonel Robin Broke who delivered up his Stick of Office upon his retirement as Lieutenant, Colonel Timothy Purdon who delivered up his Stick of Office upon relinquishing his appointment as Clerk of the Cheque and Adjutant and received his Stick of Office upon his appointment as Lieutenant, Colonel Christopher MacKenzie-Beevor who received his Stick of Office upon his appointment as Clerk of the Cheque and Adjutant, Brigadier Roger Dillon who delivered up his Stick of Office as Harbinger, and Colonel the Reverend Richard Whittington who received his Stick of Office upon his appointment as Harbinger of Her Majesty’s Body Guard of the Honourable Corps of Gentlemen at Arms.

The following were received in audience by The Queen and kissed hands upon their appointment as Her Majesty’s Ambassadors:

Mr. David Belgrove (the Republic of Liberia), Mr. Duncan Taylor (the United Mexican States) and Mr. Hugh Philpott (the Republic of Tajikistan).

Ms. Mette Ofstad, Mrs. Taylor and Mrs. Philpott were also received by Her Majesty.

Mr. James Dauris was received in audience by The Queen upon his appointment as British High Commissioner to the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka and the Republic of Maldives.

Mrs. Dauris was also received by Her Majesty.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh gave an Afternoon Party in the garden of Buckingham Palace.

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall, The Princess Royal, The Duke of Kent, Prince and Princess Michael of Kent and Princess Alexandra, the Hon. Lady Ogilvy were present.

Her Majesty’s Body Guard of the Honourable Corps of Gentlemen-at-Arms and The Queen’s Body Guard of the Yeomen of the Guard were on duty.

The Bands of the Grenadier Guards and The Rifles played selections of music during the afternoon.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Patron, Gallipoli Association, this morning received Captain Christopher Fagan upon relinquishing his appointment as Chairman and Brigadier James Stopford upon assuming the appointment.

Clarence House

The Prince of Wales this morning received Lieutenant General Thomas Beckett (Defence Senior Adviser to the Middle East).

His Royal Highness this afternoon received the Canadian High Commissioner (His Excellency Mr. Gordon Campbell).

The Prince of Wales, President, the Mary Rose Trust, held a Meeting at Clarence House.

Buckingham Palace

The Countess of Wessex, Patron, the National Autistic Society, on behalf of The Queen, this morning opened the Licensed Victuallers School Oxford, Spring Hill Road, Begbroke, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Oxfordshire (Mr. Timothy Stevenson).

Her Royal Highness this afternoon visited Cogges Manor Farm, Church Lane, Witney, and was received by Mr. John Harwood (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Oxfordshire).

Buckingham Palace

The Princess Royal, Royal Patron, Hft, this morning received the Baroness Jolly, upon assuming her appointment as Chairman. Mr. Robert Longley-Cook (Chief Executive) was present.

Her Royal Highness later laid a wreath at the Annual Chilean Navy Day Service in Westminster Abbey and subsequently attended a Reception at Church House Conference Centre, Dean’s Yard, London SW1.

The Princess Royal, President, Racing Welfare, this evening attended the Walking the Courses Gala Dinner at the Hurlingham Club, Ranelagh Gardens, London SW6.

St. James’s Palace

The Duke of Kent, Chairman, Committee of Patrons, European Union Baroque Orchestra, this evening attended their Concert at St. John’s Smith Square, London SW1.
