COURT CIRCULAR

Buckingham Palace

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh, with The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall, this morning arrived at Cardiff Central Railway Station and were received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of South Glamorgan (Dr. Peter Beck), the Rt. Hon. Alun Cairns MP (Secretary of State for Wales) and the Rt. Hon. the Lord Mayor of Cardiff (Councillor Monica Walsh).

Her Majesty was received with a Gun Salute fired at Cardiff Pierhead.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh, with The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall, drove to the National Assembly for Wales Senedd in Cardiff Bay and were received by Sir Brooke Boothby, Bt. (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of South Glamorgan), the Presiding Officer (Ms. Elin Jones AM) and the First Minister (the Rt. Hon. Carwyn Jones AM).

Her Majesty was received with a Royal Salute.

A Guard of Honour was found by The Queen’s Dragoon Guards, with the Band of The Royal Armoured Corps.

Her Majesty, accompanied by Their Royal Highnesses, entered the Debating Chamber and listened to a performance by the National Youth Choir of Wales.

The Presiding Officer welcomed The Queen and Her Majesty opened the Session of the National Assembly for Wales and the First Minister replied.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh this afternoon visited Cardiff University Brain Research Imaging Centre, School of Psychology, Cardiff University, Maindy Road, Cardiff, and were received by the Vice-Chancellor (Professor Colin Riordan), Professor Stuart Palmer (Chairman, University Council) and the Chancellor (Professor Sir Martin Evans).

Her Majesty and His Royal Highness viewed demonstrations involving a Connectome Scanner and magnetoencephalography and transcranial magnetic stimulation procedures, and The Queen participated in a demonstration using a Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging Scanner.

Subsequently, Her Majesty opened Cardiff University Brain Research Imaging Centre.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh were represented by the Lord Luce, KG (Lord in Waiting) at the Service of Thanksgiving for the Life of the Lord Parkinson (formerly Secretary of State for Transport) which was held in St. Margaret’s Church, Westminster Abbey, London SW1, today.

Clarence House

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall this afternoon attended a Reception for Members of the National Assembly for Wales, the Wales Millennium Centre, Bute Place, Cardiff Bay, South Glamorgan.

Kensington Palace

Prince Henry of Wales, Patron, Invictus Games Foundation, this evening attended a Welcome Home Dinner at the Kia Oval, Surrey County Cricket Club, London SE11.

Buckingham Palace

The Earl of Wessex, Patron, Central Caribbean Marine Institute, this morning held a Symposium at St. James’s Palace.

His Royal Highness, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Foundation, this afternoon held a Meeting.

The Countess of Wessex, Chairman, Women in Business (promoting The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award), this morning attended a Meeting at Stoke Park, Park Road, Stoke Poges, Buckinghamshire.

Buckingham Palace

The Princess Royal this morning attended Erskine Hospital’s Centenary Service of Commemoration in Glasgow Cathedral, followed by a Reception at Barony Hall, Rottenrow, Glasgow, and was received by Mr. John Chapman (Deputy Lieutenant of the City of Glasgow).

The Princess Royal, Master, the Corporation of Trinity House, accompanied by Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, this evening attended a Younger Brethren’s Dinner, Trinity House, Tower Hill, London EC3.

Kensington Palace

The Duchess of Gloucester, Patron, Friends of St. Paul’s Cathedral, this afternoon visited the Hackney Children’s Choir at St. Paul’s Church, Stoke Newington Road, London N16.
