Buckingham Palace
The Queen this morning visited Marlborough House, London SW1, to officially launch the “Commonwealth Hub” which brings Commonwealth organisations together in one place and was received by the Commonwealth Secretary-General (Her Excellency the Rt. Hon. Patricia Scotland).
Her Majesty met Commonwealth High Commissioners, Commonwealth Secretariat staff and representatives from the Commonwealth Games Federation, the Royal Commonwealth Society and the Commonwealth Local Government Forum.
The Lord Peel (Lord Chamberlain) had an audience of The Queen and presented an Address from the House of Lords to which Her Majesty was graciously pleased to make reply.
The Lord Shuttleworth was received by The Queen when Her Majesty invested him with the Insignia of a Knight Companion of the Most Noble Order of the Garter.
Sir David Brewer was received by The Queen when Her Majesty invested him with the Insignia of a Knight Companion of the Most Noble Order of the Garter.
The Queen held a Council at 5.15 p.m. at which The Duke of Edinburgh was present.
There were also present: The Rt. Hon. Christopher Grayling MP (Lord President), the Rt. Hon. Sir Christopher Geidt (Private Secretary to The Queen), the Rt. Hon. Theresa May MP (Secretary of State for the Home Department) and the Baroness Stowell of Beeston (Lord Privy Seal).
The Duke of Cambridge and The Duchess of Cornwall were introduced as Members of Her Majesty’s Most Honourable Privy Council.
Mr. Richard Tilbrook was in attendance as Clerk of the Council.
The Rt. Hon. Christopher Grayling MP had an audience of Her Majesty before the Council.
The Duke of Edinburgh, Honorary Life Member, Marylebone Cricket Club, this morning attended the first day of the Test Match between England and Sri Lanka at Lord’s Cricket Ground, St. John’s Wood, London NW8.
His Royal Highness, Patron, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, this evening attended a Gala Dinner to celebrate the Diamond Anniversary of the Award, at Stoke Park Golf and Country Club, Park Road, Stoke Poges, Buckinghamshire.
The Prince of Wales, on behalf of The Queen, held an Investiture at Buckingham Palace this morning.
By command of The Queen, Mr. Alistair Harrison (Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps) called upon His Excellency Mr. Diego Gómez Pickering at 16 St. George Street, London W1, this morning in order to bid farewell to His Excellency upon relinquishing his appointment as Ambassador from the United Mexican States to the Court of St. James’s.

The Prince of Wales this afternoon attended the “Food: the Forgotten Medicine” Conference at the Royal Society of Medicine, 1 Wimpole Street, London W1, and was received by Dr. Paul Knapman (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London).
His Royal Highness afterwards held a Charities Conference at Clarence House.
