COURT CIRCULAR

Buckingham Palace

Mr Kristan Hopkins MP (Vice-Chamberlain of the Household) was received in audience by The Queen this morning and presented Addresses from the House of Commons to which Her Majesty was graciously pleased to make reply.

Major General Benjamin Bathurst was received by The Queen upon his appointment as Major General Commanding Household Division.

Sir Stuart Hampson (First Crown Estate Commissioner and Chairman, the Crown Estate) was received by The Queen today.

Ms Alison Nimmo (Chief Executive, the Crown Estate) was also received by Her Majesty.

The Queen held a Council at 12.30pm.

There were present: the Rt Hon David Lidington MP, the Rt Hon Philip Hammond MP, the Rt Hon Elizabeth Truss MP, the Rt Hon Amber Rudd MP, the Rt Hon Gregory Clark MP, the Rt Hon David Davis MP, the Rt Hon Damian Green MP, the Rt Hon Dr Liam Fox MP, the Rt Hon Justine Greening MP, the Rt Hon Sajid Javid MP, the Rt Hon Christopher Grayling MP, the Rt Hon Priti Patel MP, the Rt Hon James Brokenshire MP, and the Rt Hon Patrick McLoughlin MP.

The Rt Hon Karen Bradley MP, the Baroness Evans of Bowes Park, the Rt Hon Boris Johnson MP and the Rt Hon Andrea Leadsom MP were sworn in as members of Her Majesty’s Most Honourable Privy Council.

The Queen declared in Council the Rt Hon David Lidington MP Lord President of the Council, who was sworn and kissed hands on his appointment.

The Baroness Evans of Bowes Park took the Oath of Office as Lord Privy Seal, kissed hands upon her appointment and received the Privy Seal.

The following took the Oath of Office, kissed hands upon appointment and received the Seals of Office: the Rt Hon Philip Hammond MP (as Chancellor of the Exchequer), the Rt Hon Elizabeth Truss MP (as Lord Chancellor and Secretary of State for Justice), the Rt Hon Boris Johnson MP (as Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs), the Rt Hon Amber Rudd MP (as Secretary of State for the Home Department), the Rt Hon Gregory Clark MP (as Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy and President of the Board of Trade), the Rt Hon David Davis MP (as Secretary of State for Exiting the European Union), the Rt Hon Damian Green MP (as Secretary of State for Work and Pensions), the Rt Hon Dr Liam Fox MP (as Secretary of State for International Trade), the Rt Hon Justine Greening MP (as Secretary of State for Education), the Rt Hon Sajid Javid MP (as Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government), the Rt Hon Christopher Grayling MP (as Secretary of State for Transport), the Rt Hon Andrea Leadsom MP (as Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs), the Rt Hon Priti Patel MP (as Secretary of State for International Development), the Rt Hon James Brokenshire MP (as Secretary of State for Northern Ireland) and the Rt Hon Karen Bradley MP (as Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport).

Mr Richard Tilbrook and Mrs Ceri King were in attendance as Clerk of the Council and Deputy Clerk of the Council respectively.

After the Council the Rt Hon Patrick McLoughlin MP had an audience of The Queen, was sworn Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster, kissed hands upon his appointment and received from Her Majesty the Seals of Office.

The Prince of Wales this morning received Professor Stephen Holgate (Medical Research Council Clinical Professor of Immunopharmacology at the University of Southampton).

His Royal Highness, Patron, The Prince’s Countryside Fund, held a Trustees Meeting.

The Prince of Wales this afternoon held a Meeting with representatives of the World Wars Muslim Memorial Trust.

Buckingham Palace

The Duke of York, Past Captain, the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews, today attended the Open Championship at Royal Troon Golf Club, Ayrshire.

The Earl of Wessex, Chairman of the Trustees, The Prince Philip Trust Fund for the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, and The Countess of Wessex this evening attended a performance by Windsor and Eton Opera of Carmen by Georges Bizet at the Farrer Theatre, Eton, and were received by Mr Jeffrey Branch (Deputy Lieutenant of the Royal County of Berkshire).

Buckingham Palace

The Princess Royal, President, World Horse Welfare, this morning opened the Indoor Arena and Visitor Centre at Glenda Spooner Farm Rescue and Rehoming Centre, Kingsdon, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Somerset (Mrs Richard Maw).

Her Royal Highness this afternoon opened the Devon and Somerset Wing Air Training Corps Joint Cadet Centre, the Drill Hall, King Street, Honiton, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Devon (Mr David Fursdon).

Kensington Palace

The Duchess of Gloucester this afternoon attended a Reception given by Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the Republic of Serbia (His Excellency Mr Denis Keefe) at the Residence in Belgrade, Serbia.

Her Royal Highness, Honorary President, the Lawn Tennis Association, later attended the Davis Cup Tie Matches between Serbia and Great Britain at Tasmajdan Stadium, Belgrade.

The Duchess of Gloucester, Honorary President, this evening attended a Dinner given by the Lawn Tennis Association at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, Milentija Popovica, Belgrade.
