The Princess Royal, accompanied by Vice-Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, today carried out the following engagements in Arkhangelsk, Russian Federation.
Her Royal Highness this morning visited the Old English Church, Georgiy Sedov Embankment, Solombola Island, and was received by Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the Russian Federation (His Excellency Dr Laurence Bristow) and Her Majesty’s Consul-General for St Petersburg (Mr Keith Allan).
The Princess Royal afterwards attended a wreath-laying ceremony at Arkhangelsk Allied Commonwealth War Graves Cemetery, Obvodnyy Kanal Avenue.
Her Royal Highness this afternoon attended a National Memorial Ceremony to the Arctic Convoys at the Victory Monument, Peace Square, 95 Severnaya Dvina Embankment.
The Princess Royal afterwards visited the Northern (Arctic) Federal University, 17 Severnaya Dvina Embankment.
Her Royal Highness subsequently visited the Northern Maritime Museum, 80 Severnaya Dvina Embankment.
The Princess Royal, accompanied by Vice-Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, later arrived at Aberdeen Airport from the Russian Federation.
Captain Nicholas Wright, Royal Navy, was in attendance.
