Clarence House

The Prince of Wales this morning departed from Dyce Airport, Aberdeen, for France and was received later upon arrival at Albert-Picardie (Meault) Airport by Her Majesty’s New Zealand Ambassador to the French Republic (His Excellency Dr James Kember).

His Royal Highness today attended the New Zealand National Service of Commemoration marking the Centenary of the Battle of the Somme, Caterpillar Valley Commonwealth War Graves Cemetery, and was received by the Minister of Defence, New Zealand (the Hon Gerry Brownlee), the Secretary of State for Veterans’ Affairs, France (Minister Jean-Marc Todeschini) and the Chief of the New Zealand Defence Force (Lieutenant General Tim Keating).

The Prince of Wales subsequently visited the New Zealand Battlefield Memorial, Longueval, and met representatives from the Pacific Islands and Niue.

His Royal Highness this afternoon attended the New Zealand Somme Commemoration Reception at Delville Wood.

The Prince of Wales this evening arrived at Dyce Airport, Aberdeen, from France.

Miss Bernadette Smith and Mrs Laura Sullivan were in attendance.

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Cambridge, President, United for Wildlife, this morning received signatories to the United for Wildlife Transportation of Illegal Wildlife Products Declaration and subsequently received the Lord Hague of Richmond.

Buckingham Palace

The Duke of York, Founder, today attended The Duke of York Young Champions Trophy and prize-giving ceremony at Royal Birkdale Golf Club, Southport, Merseyside.

The Earl of Wessex, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Foundation, this morning visited the Grange School, Santiago, Chile.

His Royal Highness later visited the British Arch of Valparaíso in Valparaíso and was received by the Honorary Consul (Mr Iain Hardy).

The Earl of Wessex this afternoon visited the 11th Fire Company “George Garland” of Valparaíso.

His Royal Highness afterwards visited the Naval Headquarters in Valparaíso.

The Earl of Wessex was later received by The President of the Republic of Chile in Santiago.

His Royal Highness, Patron, Chilean British University, subsequently visited the Chilean British University, Santiago.

The Earl of Wessex this evening attended a Reception and Dinner given by Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the Republic of Chile (Her Excellency Ms Fiona Clouder) at the Residence in Santiago.

St James’s Palace

The Duke of Kent, Royal Fellow, this evening held a Reception for the Royal Academy of Engineering at St James’s Palace.

Buckingham Palace

Princess Alexandra, President, this afternoon visited the Fitzwilliam Museum Development Trust, Trumpington Street, Cambridge.
