The Duke of York, Patron, Alderney Maritime Trust, this morning visited the Alderney Museum, High Street, St Anne’s, and was received by the President of the States of Alderney (Mr Stuart Trought).
His Royal Highness later visited Island Hall and met the organisers of the Alderney Bayeux Tapestry and local school children.
The Duke of York this afternoon attended a Lunch with the Alderney Maritime Trustees at Braye Harbour and subsequently met the archaeologists and divers working on the Elizabethan Wreck.
His Royal Highness, Admiral, Sea Cadet Corps, later presented achievement badges to Sea Cadets of TS Sarnia, Castle Cornet, St Peter Port, and was received by the Lieutenant Governor and Commander-in-Chief of Guernsey (Vice-Admiral Sir Ian Corder).
