Buckingham Palace

The Queen, Colonel-in-Chief, Corps of Royal Engineers, today visited the Corps at Brompton Barracks, Chatham, to mark its Tercentenary and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Kent (the Viscount De L’Isle) and the Chief Royal Engineer (Lieutenant General Sir Mark Mans).

Her Majesty was received with a Royal Salute before inspecting the Parade from the State Review Range Rover and viewing a display showing the capabilities of the Royal Engineers.

The Chief Royal Engineer addressed the Parade and The Queen was graciously pleased to reply.

Afterwards Her Majesty viewed stands in the Auditorium linking the history of the Royal Engineers and the Corps’ current role before walking to the Officers’ Mess.

The Queen was received at the Officers’ Mess by the Mayor of Medway (Councillor Stuart Tranter) and was entertained to Luncheon by the Chief Royal Engineer.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Patron, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, today attended Receptions at St James’s Palace for young people who have achieved the Gold Standard in the Award.

His Royal Highness, Honorary Member, Saints and Sinners Club of London, this evening held a Dinner at Windsor Castle.

The Prince Charles, Duke of Rothesay this morning visited Marine Harvest, Onich, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Inverness (Donald Cameron of Lochiel).

His Royal Highness afterwards attended a Meeting held by The Prince of Wales’ International Sustainability Unit at Ballachulish Hotel, Glencoe.

The Prince Charles, Duke of Rothesay this evening visited the Royal Guard at Victoria Barracks, Ballater, Aberdeenshire.

The Duke of Cambridge, Honorary Air Commandant, Royal Air Force Coningsby, this afternoon received Group Captain Jeremy Attridge upon relinquishing his appointment as Commanding Officer and Group Captain Michael Baulkwill upon assuming the appointment.

His Royal Highness this evening attended a Reception at Buckingham Palace for the Kennedy Memorial Trust to mark their Fiftieth Anniversary.

The Duke of York, Patron, today visited the Life on the Western Front exhibition at Whitgift School, Haling Park, South Croydon, Surrey.

The Earl of Wessex this morning visited the recently restored Albert Bridge in Glasgow and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the City of Glasgow (Councillor Sadie Docherty, the Rt Hon the Lord Provost).

The Princess Royal, Second Warden, the Fishmongers’ Company, this morning attended a Committee of Wardens Meeting and General Court Meeting at Fishmongers’ Hall, London Bridge, London EC4.

Her Royal Highness, Patron, Aerospace Bristol, this afternoon visited the museum construction site in Northway, Filton, Bristol, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Gloucestershire (Dame Janet Trotter).

The Princess Royal, Honorary Member, the Society of Merchant Venturers, this evening attended the Autumn Banquet at Merchants Hall, Clifton Down, Bristol, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the County and City of Bristol (Mrs John Prior).

The Duke of Gloucester this evening attended a Dinner at Mansion House, London EC4, to celebrate the One Hundred and Fiftieth Anniversary of Wellesley House School.

The Duchess of Gloucester this afternoon visited Landau Forte College, Fox Street, Derby, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Derbyshire (Mr William Tucker).

Her Royal Highness later officially opened the new Infant and Nursery Building at Derby High School, Hillsway, Littleover, Derby.

The Duchess of Gloucester afterwards officially opened the rebuilt Allestree Woodlands School, Blenheim Drive, Derby.
