COURT CIRCULAR

Buckingham Palace

The Prime Minister of Grenada was received by The Queen today.

Air Chief Marshal Sir Stuart Peach was received by Her Majesty upon his appointment as Chief of the Defence Staff.

The Queen held a Council at 5.30pm.

There were present: the Rt Hon David Lidington MP (Lord President), the Rt Hon Gregory Clark MP (Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy), the Rt Hon Priti Patel MP (Secretary of State for International Development) and the Rt Hon Gavin Williamson MP (Chief Whip).

The Rt Hon Sir Oliver Heald MP, the Rt Hon Brandon Lewis MP and the Lord Turnbull were sworn in as members of Her Majesty’s Most Honourable Privy Council.

Mr Kenneth Macintosh MSP, the Rt Hon John McDonnell MP and the Rt Hon James Wolffe made affirmation as members of Her Majesty’s Most Honourable Privy Council.

Mr Richard Tilbrook was in attendance as Clerk of the Council.

The Rt Hon David Lidington MP had an audience of Her Majesty before the Council.

The Rt Hon Theresa May MP (Prime Minister and First Lord of the Treasury) had an audience of The Queen this evening.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Patron, Chartered Management Institute, today received Mr Michael Clasper (President) and Ms Ann Francke (Chief Executive).

The Baroness Rawlings (Baroness in Waiting) was present at Royal Air Force Northolt this morning upon the Arrival of The President of the Portuguese Republic and welcomed His Excellency on behalf of Her Majesty.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh were represented by the Lady Susan Hussey (Lady in Waiting) at the Memorial Service for Mrs Michael Wall (Extra Lady in Waiting) which was held at Holy Trinity Church, Wonston, Hampshire, this morning.

The Duke of York was represented by Colonel Robin Broke.

The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester were represented by Lieutenant Colonel Charles Dawnay.

Princess Alexandra, the Hon. Lady Ogilvy was represented by Mrs Peter Afia.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Patron, the Hurlingham Polo Association, was represented by Lord Patrick Beresford (Member) at the Service of Thanksgiving for the Life of the Hon Mark Vestey (former Chairman) which was held at the Parish Church of St John the Baptist, Cirencester, Gloucestershire, this afternoon.

The Duchess of Cornwall, also representing The Prince of Wales, was present.

The Duke of Cambridge and Prince Henry of Wales were represented by Mr Andrew Tucker.

The Countess of Wessex, also representing The Earl of Wessex, was present.

The Princess Royal was represented by Mrs Timothy Holderness-Roddam.

The Duke of Kent was represented by Brigadier Charles Page.

Clarence House

The Prince of Wales, Patron, this afternoon gave a Reception at St James’s Palace to celebrate the Sixtieth Anniversary of Abbeyfield.

His Royal Highness later received Mrs Amanda Sherrington (Chief Executive, The Prince’s Charities Canada), Mr David McKay (President and Chief Executive Officer, the Royal Bank of Canada) and Mr Mark Fell (Head of Global Ultra High Net Worth Services, the Royal Bank of Canada).

The Prince of Wales, President, The Prince’s Teaching Institute, afterwards held a Meeting at Clarence House.

His Royal Highness, Patron, the Royal Opera House, this evening held a Gala Concert at Buckingham Palace.

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Cambridge this morning arrived at Noi Bai International Airport, Hanoi, and was received by Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (His Excellency Mr Giles Lever).

His Royal Highness this afternoon called upon Mr Nguyen Xuan Phuc (Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam) at No 1 Hung Vuong Street, Ba Dinh District, Hanoi.

The Duke of Cambridge afterwards called up Mrs Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh (Vice President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam) at No 1 Hung Vuong Street.

His Royal Highness, President, United for Wildlife, later visited Hong Ha Primary School, Lan Ong Street, Hanoi, and subsequently met Vietnamese conservationists at Aha Café, Thuoc Bac Street.

The Duke of Cambridge afterwards visited Ngoc Son Temple, Hoan Kiem Lake, Hanoi.

His Royal Highness this evening held a Reception at the Sofitel Legend Metropole Hotel, Hanoi, for young Vietnamese leaders from the worlds of art, music, media and business.

Buckingham Palace

The Duke of York this morning departed from Heathrow Airport, London, for Mexico and was received upon arrival this evening at Mexico City International Airport by Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the United Mexican States (His Excellency Mr Duncan Taylor).

Mrs Amanda Thirsk and Mr David Pogson are in attendance.

The Countess of Wessex, Ambassador, Women of the Future Programme, this morning attended the Women of the Future Summit at the London Hilton on Park Lane, London W1.

The Princess Royal, President, Save the Children UK, this morning received Mr Kevin Watkins upon assuming his appointment as Chief Executive.

Mr Peter Bennett Jones (Chairman) was present.

Her Royal Highness, Colonel-in-Chief, The King’s Royal Hussars, received Lieutenant Colonel Justin Kingsford upon relinquishing his appointment as Commanding Officer and Lieutenant Colonel James Porter upon assuming the appointment.

The Princess Royal, President, Riding for the Disabled Association, today attended the National Annual General Meeting at Cheltenham Racecourse and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Gloucestershire (Dame Janet Trotter).

Her Royal Highness, President, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Commonwealth Study Conferences, this evening held a Dinner at St James’s Palace.

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Gloucester, Liveryman, the Worshipful Company of Masons, this afternoon presented The Duke of Gloucester Gold Medal Award at Kensington Palace.

St James’s Palace

The Duke of Kent this evening attended the Bach Choir’s One Thousandth Concert Gala at Merchant Taylors’ Hall, 30 Threadneedle Street, London EC2.
