Buckingham Palace

Mr Julian Smith MP (Vice-Chamberlain of the Household) was received in audience by The Queen today and presented an Address from the House of Commons to which Her Majesty was graciously pleased to make reply.

The Duchess of Westminster was received by The Queen and delivered up the Insignia of the Order of the Garter worn by her husband, the late Duke of Westminster.

Mr Nicholas Chance was received by The Queen upon relinquishing his appointment as Private Secretary to Prince Michael of Kent.

The Rt Hon Theresa May MP (Prime Minister and First Lord of the Treasury) had an audience of Her Majesty this evening.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Patron, Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, this evening held a Dinner at Buckingham Palace at which The Earl of Wessex was present.

The Prince of Wales, Patron, the Confederation of Service Charities, this morning received Lieutenant General Sir Andrew Ridgway upon relinquishing his appointment as Chairman and General Sir John McColl upon assuming the appointment.

His Royal Highness, President, the Royal Agricultural University, received Professor Joanna Price (Vice Chancellor).

The Prince of Wales this afternoon visited the Russian Orthodox Cathedral of the Dormition of the Mother of God and All Saints, 67 Ennismore Gardens, London SW7, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London (Mr Kenneth Olisa).

His Royal Highness later received Mr Robin Page (Chairman of the Countryside Restoration Trust).

The Prince of Wales, Colonel-in-Chief, The Mercian Regiment, subsequently received Lieutenant Colonel Mark Ellwood upon relinquishing his appointment as Commanding Officer 1st Battalion and Lieutenant Colonel Charles Ginn upon assuming the appointment.

The Duchess of Cornwall this morning held a Reception at Buckingham Palace to celebrate the Seventieth Anniversary of BBC Radio 4’s “Woman’s Hour”.

The Duke of York, Earl of Inverness today visited Inverness and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Inverness (Donald Cameron of Lochiel).

His Royal Highness this morning opened the Flood Prevention Scheme at the North Tower, Inverness Castle.

The Duke of York, Earl of Inverness this afternoon attended a Luncheon at the Town House.

His Royal Highness later opened the Highland Hospice, Ness House, 1 Bishops Road.

The Duke of York, Earl of Inverness afterwards visited the Verio Flexi manufacturing centre at Lifescan, Johnson and Johnson, Beechwood Park North.

The Countess of Wessex, President, National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children, and Patron, Childline, this evening attended Childline’s Merry Little Christmas Carol Concert, followed by Dinner, in St Paul’s Cathedral, London EC4.

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Gloucester, Grand Prior, the Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem, and The Duchess of Gloucester were represented by Surgeon Rear Admiral Lionel Jarvis (Prior of England and the Islands) at the Funeral of Lady Moyra Browne (formerly Superintendent-in-Chief of St John Ambulance) which was held at St Paul’s Chapel, Stanstead Park, Rowlands Castle, Hampshire, this afternoon.
