COURT CIRCULAR

Sandringham, Norfolk

Today being the Feast of the Epiphany, a Sung Eucharist was held in the Chapel Royal, St. James’s Palace, when the customary offerings of Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh were made on behalf of The Queen by Commodore Laurie Hopkins RN and Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Matheson of Matheson, yr (Gentlemen Ushers to Her Majesty).

The Bishop of London (Dean of Her Majesty’s Chapels Royal) was the Celebrant and presented the Offerings, assisted by the Reverend Canon Paul Wright (Sub-Dean of Her Majesty’s Chapels Royal) and the Reverend Richard Bolton and the Reverend William Whitcombe (Priests in Ordinary).

The Queen’s Body Guard of the Yeomen of the Guard was on duty in the Chapel.

By command of The Queen, Mr. Alistair Harrison (Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps) called upon His Excellency Mr. Victor Emmanuel Smith at 13 Belgrave Square, London SW1, this afternoon in order to bid farewell to His Excellency upon relinquishing his appointment as High Commissioner for the Republic of Ghana in London.
