The following were received in audience by The Queen and kissed hands upon their appointment as Her Majesty’s Ambassadors: Mr. David Quarrey (the State of Israel), Mr. Brian Davidson (the Kingdom of Thailand) and Mr. Robin Barnett (Ireland).

Miss Katharine Ransome was received in audience by The Queen upon her appointment as British High Commissioner to the Republic of Botswana.

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall this morning visited the Black Cultural Archives, Windrush Square, London SW2, and were received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London (Mr. Kenneth Olisa).

The Princess Royal, President, UK Fashion and Textile Association, this morning visited Joshua Ellis and Company Limited, Grange Valley Road, Batley, to celebrate its Two Hundred and Fiftieth Anniversary and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of West Yorkshire (Dr. Ingrid Roscoe).
Her Royal Highness, Patron, the National Association of Citizens Advice Bureaux, this afternoon opened the Newcastle offices and visited Newcastle City Library, Charles Avison Building, 33 New Bridge Street West, Newcastle upon Tyne, to celebrate the Eight Hundredth Anniversary of Newcastle City Council’s Mayoralty and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Tyne and Wear (Mrs. Susan Winfield).
The Princess Royal, Master, the Corporation of Trinity House, this evening attended the Younger Brethren Guest Night at Trinity House, Trinity Square, London EC3.
