Windsor Castle
The Queen, Patron, the Zoological Society of London, accompanied by The Duke of Edinburgh, Honorary Fellow, this morning opened the Centre for Elephant Care at Whipsnade Zoo, Dunstable, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Bedfordshire (Mrs Helen Nellis), the President of the Zoological Society of London (Sir John Beddington) and Mr Ralph Armond (Director General).
Her Majesty and His Royal Highness, escorted respectively by Professor David Field (Zoological Director) and Mr Lee Sambrook (Head Elephant Keeper), viewed the Elephant Enclosure and the elephant team carrying out nail filing, footcare and dental checks.
The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh viewed the feeding of an elephant and Her Majesty fed an elephant.
The Queen, accompanied by The Duke of Edinburgh, this afternoon opened Priory View, Church Street, Dunstable, and was received by Central Bedfordshire Council (Councillor David Bowater) and the Mayor of Dunstable (Councillor Peter Hollick).
Her Majesty, escorted by Ms Julie Ogley (Director of Social Care and Housing), and His Royal Highness, escorted by Councillor Carole Hegley (Executive Member for Social Care and Housing), viewed the hair salon, activities room, spa and accommodation and met residents
and carers.
The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh were entertained to Luncheon by the Chairman of Central Bedfordshire Council.
The Duke of Edinburgh, Patron, Prince Philip Trust Fund for the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, this evening attended a Dinner to mark the Fortieth Anniversary of the Fund, Windsor Guildhall, High Street, Windsor, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the Royal County of Berkshire (Mr James Puxley).

The Prince of Wales this morning attended a Post-Flood Recovery Reception at the Sands Methodist Hall, the Sands, Appleby-in-Westmorland, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Cumbria (Mrs Peter Hensman).
His Royal Highness afterwards met members of Cows and Company at Appleby Creamery Limited, Crosscroft Industrial Estate, Appleby-in-Westmorland.
The Prince Charles, Duke of Rothesay, President, the Great Steward of Scotland’s Dumfries House Trust, this evening held a Dinner at Dumfries House, Cumnock, Ayrshire.

The Earl of Wessex, Chairman of the Trustees, The Prince Philip Trust Fund for the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, this evening chaired a Meeting, followed by Dinner, at Windsor Guildhall, High Street, Windsor, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the Royal County of Berkshire (Mr James Puxley).

The Princess Royal this afternoon opened an Exhibition and attended a Reception to celebrate the One Hundred and Fiftieth Anniversary of St Andrews Ladies’ Putting Club at the British Golf Museum, Bruce Embankment, St Andrews, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Fife (Mr Robert Balfour).
Her Royal Highness, Honorary Member, the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews, later visited the Clubhouse, St Andrews.
The Princess Royal, Patron, Opportunity International United Kingdom, this evening attended a Dinner at the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews.

Princess Alexandra, Patron, this evening held a Reception at St James’s Palace to mark the Fiftieth Anniversary of Crisis UK.
