The Queen held a Council at 12.40pm.
There were present: the Rt Hon David Lidington MP (Lord President), the Baroness Anelay of St Johns (Minister of State for the Commonwealth and the United Nations at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office), the Rt Hon Philip Hammond MP (Chancellor of the Exchequer) and the Rt Hon Sir Patrick McLoughlin MP (Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster).
Mr Richard Tilbrook was in attendance as Clerk of the Council.
The Rt Hon David Lidington MP had an audience of Her Majesty before the Council.
By command of The Queen, Mr Alistair Harrison (Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps) called upon His Excellency Mr Mahmud Mohammed Nacua at 15 Knightsbridge, London SW1, this morning in order to bid farewell to His Excellency upon relinquishing his appointment as Ambassador from Libya to the Court of St James’s.
By command of Her Majesty, the Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps afterwards called upon His Excellency Mr Alisher Kurmanov at 41 Holland Park, London W11, in order to bid farewell to His Excellency upon relinquishing his appointment as Ambassador from the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Court of St James’s.

The Prince Charles, Duke of Rothesay, Patron, this afternoon held a Meeting at Dumfries House, Cumnock, Ayrshire, for the International Network for Traditional Building, Architecture and Urbanism.
His Royal Highness, Founder and President, afterwards held a Meeting for The Prince’s Foundation for Building Community.
The Prince Charles, Duke of Rothesay, President, the Great Steward of Scotland’s Dumfries House Trust, this evening held a Dinner for supporters.
Buckingham Palace
The Duke of York, Vice-Admiral, this morning took the salute at the Lord High Admiral’s Divisions at Britannia Royal Naval College, Dartmouth, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Devon (Mr David Fursdon).
Buckingham Palace
The Princess Royal this morning visited Charlie Miller Hairdressing Limited, Charlie Miller Training Academy, Holy Corner, 2 Colinton Road, Edinburgh, to mark its Fiftieth Anniversary, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the City of Edinburgh (Councillor Donald Wilson, the Rt Hon the Lord Provost).
Her Royal Highness, Chancellor, the University of Edinburgh, afterwards opened O’Shea Hall, Holyrood Road, Edinburgh.
The Princess Royal this afternoon visited an Arts and Crafts Exhibition at the Royal Scots Club, 29 Abercromby Place, Edinburgh, to mark the Centenary of the Scottish Women’s Rural Institutes.
Her Royal Highness, President, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Commonwealth Study Conferences, accompanied by Vice-Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, this evening held a Dinner at St James’s Palace.
Kensington Palace
The Duke of Gloucester, President, the Britain-Nepal Society, was represented by Mr Roger Potter (Chairman) at the Funeral of Colonel James Evans (former Vice-President) which was held at St Mary’s Church, Froyle, Hampshire, this afternoon.
St James’s Palace
The Duke of Kent, President, Royal National Lifeboat Institution, this morning officially opened Scarborough Lifeboat Station at Foreshore Road, Scarborough, and named the new Shannon Lifeboat Frederick William Plaxton and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of North Yorkshire (Mr Barry Dodd).
His Royal Highness this afternoon visited Lovat Mill, Hawick, Roxburghshire, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Roxburgh, Ettrick and Lauderdale (the Duke of Buccleuch and Queensberry).
The Duke of Kent, Deputy Colonel-in-Chief, The Royal Scots Dragoon Guards (Carabiniers and Greys), this evening attended a Regimental Dinner at Edinburgh Castle.

The Queen has been pleased to appoint the Reverend Prebendary Jonathan Osborne to be a Deputy Priest in Ordinary to Her Majesty.
