Buckingham Palace

The Rt Hon Theresa May MP (Prime Minister and First Lord of the Treasury) had an audience of The Queen this afternoon.

The Queen held a Council at 3.30pm.

There were present: the Rt Hon David Lidington MP (Lord President), the Baroness Evans of Bowes Park (Leader of the House of Lords and Lord Privy Seal), the Rt Hon Jeremy Hunt MP (Secretary of State for Health) and the Rt Hon Sir Patrick McLoughlin MP (Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster).

The Duke of Edinburgh, Colonel-in-Chief, Corps of Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, this morning received Lieutenant General Andrew Figgures upon relinquishing his appointment as Master General and Lieutenant General Paul Jaques upon assuming the appointment.

His Royal Highness, Honorary Life Member, Marylebone Cricket Club, this afternoon opened the new Warner Stand, Lord’s Cricket Ground, St John’s Wood Road, London NW8, and was received by Wing Commander Michael Dudgeon (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London).

The Duke of Edinburgh was represented by Colonel Richard Aubrey-Fletcher (President, the Grenadier Guards Association) at the Memorial Service for Captain David Horn (formerly Grenadier Guards and Curator of the Guards Museum) which was held in the Guards Chapel, Wellington Barracks, Birdcage Walk, London SW1, this morning.

The Duchess of Cambridge today visited Farms for City Children at Wick Court, Overton Lane, Arlingham, Gloucester, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Gloucestershire (Dame Janet Trotter).

The Duke of York afterwards visited the Calit2/Qualcomm Institute.

His Royal Highness, Patron, Catalyst Inc, this evening attended a Dinner given by the Chancellor of the University of California San Diego at Audrey Geisel House, La Jolla.

The Earl of Wessex, this morning visited Torbay Town Hall, Castle Circus, Torquay, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Devon (Mr David Fursdon).

His Royal Highness subsequently visited the Leonard Stocks Centre, Castle Circus.

The Earl of Wessex this afternoon visited Growing for Life, Preston Down Road, Paignton, Devon.

His Royal Highness subsequently attended a Lunch at Occombe Farm, Preston Down Road.

The Earl of Wessex afterwards visited Paignton Picture House, 5 Torbay Road, Paignton.

His Royal Highness later visited the Purple Angel Dementia Campaign at Barton Baptist Church, Happaway Road, Torquay.

The Earl of Wessex, Chancellor, the University of Bath, this evening attended the Blues Awards and Dinner at Bath Assembly Rooms, Bennett Street, Bath, and was received by Professor Dame Glynis Breakwell (Deputy Lieutenant of Somerset).

The Countess of Wessex, Royal Colonel, this morning visited 5th Battalion The Rifles at Tapa Garrison, Tapa, Estonia, and undertook engagements with Estonian Defence Forces.

Her Royal Highness this afternoon arrived at Farnborough Airport, Hampshire, from Estonia.

The Countess of Wessex, Patron, Royal Mencap Society, was represented by Ms Janine Tregelles (Chief Executive Officer) at the Memorial Service for the Lord Rix (formerly President) which was held in St Paul’s Church, Bedford Street, London WC2, this afternoon.
