COURT CIRCULAR

Buckingham Palace 

His Excellency Dr John Oliphant was received in audience by The Queen today and presented the Letters of Recall of his predecessor and his own Letters of Commission as High Commissioner for the Kingdom of Lesotho in London.

Mrs Oliphant was also received by Her Majesty.

His Excellency Mr Papa Owusu-Ankomah was received in audience by The Queen and presented the Letters of Recall of his predecessor and his own Letters of Commission as High Commissioner for the Republic of Ghana in London.

Mrs Owusu-Ankomah was also received by Her Majesty.

Sir Simon McDonald (Permanent Under-Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs) was present.

The Lord Llewellyn of Steep was received in audience by The Queen and kissed hands upon his appointment as Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the French Republic.

Lady Llewellyn was also received by The Queen.

Her Majesty gave a Reception at Buckingham Palace this evening for The Queen’s Young Leaders.

Prince Henry of Wales and The Duke of York were present.

The Queen was represented by Mrs Peter Troughton (Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Wiltshire) at the Funeral of the Viscount Long (formerly Lord in Waiting) which was held at the Church of St Mary the Virgin, Steeple Ashton, Wiltshire, this morning.

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall this morning departed from Royal Air Force Brize Norton for Canada and were received this afternoon upon arrival at the Legislative Assembly, Iqaluit, Nunavut, by the Governor General of Canada (the Rt Hon David Johnston).

The Prince of Wales afterwards attended a Language Preservation event at the Legislative Assembly and was received by the Hon Peter Taptuna (Premier of Nunavut).

His Royal Highness subsequently visited the Nunavut Reserve Centre, Nunavut.

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall later attended a Community Feast in Sylvia Grinnell Territorial Park, Nunavut.

The Duchess of Cornwall this afternoon met representatives of the Qimaavik Women’s Shelter at a Reception at the Legislative Assembly for community organisations focusing on Health and Wellbeing and was received by the Hon Nellie Kusugak (Commissioner of Nunavut).

Mr Scott Furssedonn-Wood, Mr Julian Payne and Mrs Sophia Densham are in attendance.

The Duchess of Cambridge today officially opened the Exhibition Road Quarter at the Victoria and Albert Museum, London SW7, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London (Mr Kenneth Olisa).

Prince Henry of Wales this evening attended The Queen’s Young Leaders Awards Dinner at Australia House, Strand, London WC2, given by the High Commissioner for the Commonwealth of Australia (His Excellency the Hon Alexander Downer).

The Duke of York, Commodore-in-Chief, Fleet Air Arm, this morning received Rear Admiral Keith Blount (Rear Admiral).

His Royal Highness, Patron, the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, received Professor Timothy Briggs (Director of Strategy and External Affairs), Mr Robert Hurd (Chief Executive) and Mrs Rosie Stolarski (Director of Fundraising and Development).

The Duke of York, Patron, this afternoon held a Lunch for Whitgift School.

The Countess of Wessex, Patron, this morning visited Remus Memorial Horse Sanctuary, Little Farm, Buttsbury, Ingatestone, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Essex (the Lord Petre).

Her Royal Highness later visited the Kypros Nicolaides Fetal Medicine Unit, Southend University Hospital, Southend, and was received by Mr Jonathan Douglas-Hughes (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Essex).

The Countess of Wessex, Patron, Association of Sail Training Organisations, this afternoon visited Essex members of the Association at Brightlingsea Town Hard, Brightlingsea, Essex.

The Princess Royal, Colonel, The Blues and Royals (Royal Horse Guards and 1st Dragoons), this morning inspected the Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment Kit Ride Pass Off at Hyde Park Barracks, Knightsbridge, London SW7.

Her Royal Highness, Patron, Royal Yachting Association Foundation, this afternoon visited Queen Mary Sailing Club, Ashford Road, Ashford, Middlesex, to mark the Twentieth Anniversary of Queen Mary Sailability and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Surrey (Mr Michael More-Molyneux).

The Princess Royal, Prime Warden, the Fishmongers’ Company, this evening attended a College Dinner in Westminster Abbey, London SW1.

St James’s Palace

The Duke of Kent, Royal Fellow, the Royal Academy of Engineering, this evening attended a Dinner at the Landmark London, 222 Marylebone Road, London NW1.

Princess Alexandra, Royal Patron, this evening visited Masterpiece London at the Royal Hospital Chelsea, London SW3.
