Buckingham Palace

The King of Spain, accompanied by The Duke of York, this morning attended a United Kingdom-Spanish Business Forum at Mansion House, London EC4, and was received by the Rt Hon the Lord Mayor (Alderman Dr Andrew Parmley), the Rt Hon Dr Liam Fox MP (Secretary of State for International Trade and President of the Board of Trade), Mr José Luis Bonet (President of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce) and Mr Juan Rosell (President of the Spanish Confederation of Business Associations).

His Majesty, accompanied by His Royal Highness, afterwards met United Kingdom and Spanish business leaders.

The King and Queen of Spain, accompanied by Prince Henry of Wales, later drove to Westminster Abbey where His Majesty laid a wreath at the Grave of the Unknown Warrior.

The King and Queen of Spain this afternoon attended a Reception at the Residence of the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain for members of the Spanish community.

His Majesty afterwards visited No. 10 Downing Street and had talks with the Prime Minister and subsequently was entertained to Luncheon by the Prime Minister on behalf of Her Majesty’s Government.

The King and Queen of Spain this evening received an Address of Welcome and were entertained at a Banquet by the Rt Hon the Lord Mayor and the City of London Corporation at Guildhall.

The Princess Royal and Vice-Admiral Sir Tim Laurence were present.

The Queen, accompanied by The Duke of Edinburgh, this morning opened New Scotland Yard, the new Headquarters of the Metropolitan Police on Victoria Embankment, London SW1, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London (Mr Kenneth Olisa) and the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis (Miss Cressida Dick).

Her Majesty and His Royal Highness, escorted respectively by the Commissioner and Mr Craig Mackey (Deputy Commissioner), passed vintage police vehicles and two police horses before viewing historical items, including a Second World War uniform of a Woman Police Constable and the operational order for the Coronation, and viewing plans of the new building and a bomb disposal demonstration by a robot.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh subsequently viewed officers demonstrating “A day in the life of the Met” and met uniformed members of staff.

Her Majesty and His Royal Highness afterwards witnessed a salute performed by a Marine Policing Unit river boat and met “first responders” to the recent terrorist attacks in London, management board members, officers, cadets and members of staff.

The Lord Peel (Lord Chamberlain) had an audience of The Queen this afternoon and presented an Address from the House of Lords to which Her Majesty was graciously pleased to make reply.

Clarence House

The Prince of Wales, Patron, the Royal Parks, this morning launched the Royal Parks charity in Hyde Park, London W1, and was received by Dr Paul Knapman (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London).

His Royal Highness this afternoon held a Reception at Clarence House for The Duchess of Cornwall’s patronages to celebrate Her Royal Highness’s Seventieth Birthday.

The Prince of Wales this evening held a Reception for His Royal Highness’s organisations in Wales.

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Cambridge, President, the Football Association, this morning held a Good Luck Send Off Reception at Kensington Palace for the England Women’s Football team.

His Royal Highness afterwards viewed a Wildcat’s Girls Football programme training session at Kensington Palace.

The Duchess of Cambridge, Patron, this evening officially opened the new Hintze Hall at the Natural History Museum, Cromwell Road, London SW7, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London (Mr Kenneth Olisa).

Kensington Palace

Prince Henry of Wales this afternoon received Dunkirk veterans at Kensington Palace.

His Royal Highness this evening attended the film premiere of Dunkirk at the Odeon Cinema, Leicester Square, London WC2, and was received by General the Lord Dannatt (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London).

The Duke of York this morning received Mr Arun Sarin (Director, Mobileum).

His Royal Highness this afternoon received Sir Richard Feachem (Professor of Global Health, University of California San Francisco).

Buckingham Palace

The Earl of Wessex, President, Creative Youth, this evening attended the International Youth Arts Festival at the Rose Theatre, Kingston upon Thames, and was received by Colonel Geoffrey Godbold (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London).

The Countess of Wessex, Patron, the Defence Medical Welfare Service, this evening attended the National Police Bravery Awards at the Dorchester Hotel, Park Lane, London W1, and was received by Dr Paul Knapman (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London).

Buckingham Palace

The Princess Royal, Prime Warden, the Fishmongers’ Company, this morning toured Fishmongers’ Hall and chaired the Committee of Wardens Meeting and a General Court Meeting at Fishmongers’ Hall, London Bridge, London EC4.

Her Royal Highness this afternoon visited the following businesses at Fareham Borough Council Enterprise Zone, Daedalus, Lee-on-the-Solent, Hampshire.

The Princess Royal first visited the Daedalus Maritime and Coastguard Agency Training Centre and was received by Mrs. Lindsay Fox (Vice-Lord-Lieutenant of Hampshire).

Her Royal Highness afterwards visited Fareham College Centre for Engineering and Manufacturing Advanced Skills Training, 1 Meteor Way, Broom Way, and was received by Rear-Admiral Iain Henderson (Deputy Lieutenant of Hampshire).

The Princess Royal subsequently visited Fareham Innovation Centre, Merlin House, 4 Meteor Way.

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Gloucester this morning visited 1625 Independent People, 2A Victoria Street, Bristol, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the County and City of Bristol (Mrs Peaches Golding).

His Royal Highness this afternoon visited Temwa, 34 Portland Square, Bristol.

The Duke of Gloucester afterwards opened John Wesley’s Chapel, New Room Visitor Centre, 36 the Horsefair, Bristol.

St James’s Palace

The Duke of Kent, Chancellor, this afternoon presided at the University of Surrey’s Undergraduate Degree Ceremonies in the grounds of Guildford Cathedral, Surrey.

Appendix to Court Circular

The Queen has been pleased to appoint the Lady Elizabeth Leeming and Mrs Simon Rhodes to be Extra Ladies in Waiting to Her Majesty.
