COURT CIRCULAR

Balmoral Castle

The Queen, accompanied by The Duke of Edinburgh, this morning officially opened the Queensferry Crossing at South Queensferry and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the City of Edinburgh (Councillor Francis Ross, the Rt. Hon. the Lord Provost), the Chief Executive of Transport Scotland (Mr. Roy Brannen) and the Chairman of Forth Crossing Bridge Constructors Board (Ms. Sally Cox).

Her Majesty and His Royal Highness met members of the construction team and local schoolchildren before a Prayer of Blessing was given by the Right Reverend Dr. Derek Browning (Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland).

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh witnessed a Flypast from the Bridge.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh afterwards attended a Ceremony to mark the opening of the new Firth of Forth road bridge at the Cube Arena, King Malcolm Drive, Rosyth, and were received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Fife (Mr. Robert Balfour).

Her Majesty addressed those present.

The Lord Young of Cookham (Lord-in-Waiting) was present at London St. Pancras International Railway Station this morning upon the Arrival of The President of the Republic of Madagascar and welcomed His Excellency on behalf of The Queen.

By command of Her Majesty, Mr. Alistair Harrison (Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps) called upon Her Excellency Ms. Sylvie Bermann at 58 Knightsbridge, London SW1, this morning in order to bid farewell to Her Excellency upon relinquishing her appointment as Ambassador from the French Republic to the Court of St. James’s.

Kensington Palace

Prince Henry of Wales this morning visited residents and beneficiaries living at Canada Street, Manchester, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater Manchester (Mr. Warren Smith).

His Royal Highness this afternoon visited Manchester Resilience Hub, providers of mental health support after the recent Manchester Arena terrorist attack, Ashton Old Baths, Stamford Street West, Ashton-under-Lyne.

Prince Henry of Wales, Joint Patron, the Royal Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry, afterwards attended a Coach Core event at Etihad Stadium, Etihad Campus, Manchester.

His Royal Highness, Patron, the Rugby Football League, later attended a Reception at Etihad Stadium.
