Buckingham Palace

The Queen, Captain-General, this morning reviewed The King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery in Hyde Park, London, on the occasion of their Seventieth Anniversary and was received at Hyde Park Parade Ground by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London (Mr Kenneth Olisa), the Master Gunner St James’s Park (Lieutenant-General Sir Andrew Gregory) and the Honorary Colonel, The King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery (Major-General Matthew Sykes).

Her Majesty was received with a Royal Salute before inspecting the Parade.

The Queen subsequently attended a Reception and met soldiers and veterans of the Troop.

The Queen was represented by Sir Antony Acland KG (formerly Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the United States of America) at the Service of Thanksgiving for the Life of Sir Alan Urwick (formerly British High Commissioner to Canada) which was held in St Margaret’s Church, Westminster Abbey, London SW1, today.

The Duke and Duchess of Kent were represented by Mr Nicholas Marden.

Clarence House

The Prince Charles, Duke of Rothesay, Patron, the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership, this morning held a Meeting.

His Royal Highness, Patron, later held a Meeting with the Atlantic Salmon Trust.

Kensington Palace

Prince Henry of Wales, Joint Patron, the Royal Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry, this evening attended a Reception at St James’s Palace.

The Duke of York this morning departed London Luton Airport for Canada.

The Princess Royal, Royal Patron, Motor Neurone Disease Scotland, this afternoon attended a Reception at Glasgow City Chambers, George Square, Glasgow, and was received by Dr Rajan Madhok (Deputy Lieutenant of the City of Glasgow).

Her Royal Highness later opened the Deafblind Scotland Learning and Development Centre, Field of Dreams, Initiative Road, Kirkintilloch, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Dunbartonshire (Rear-Admiral Michael Gregory).

The Princess Royal, Patron, the Grand Antiquity Society of Glasgow, this evening attended a Dinner at the Trades Hall of Glasgow Trust, 85 Glassford Street, Glasgow.

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Gloucester this morning presented The Queen’s Award for Enterprise: International Trade to Advanced Insulation Limited, Quedgeley West Business Park, Bristol Road, Hardwicke, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Gloucestershire (Dame Janet Trotter).

His Royal Highness, Patron, Project Pilgrim 2, today visited Gloucester Cathedral.

The Duke of Gloucester this afternoon opened LifeArt InnoVation Centre at Flexmort Limited, Unit 1C Cotswold Buildings, Barnswood Point, Corinium Avenue, Gloucester.

The Duchess of Gloucester this afternoon officially opened the Stick ’n’ Step Cheshire Centre, Tudor Hall, York Street, Runcorn, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Cheshire (Mr David Briggs).

Her Royal Highness afterwards officially opened the Centenary Studios to mark the One Hundredth Anniversary of the Hammond School, Mannings Lane, Chester.

The Duchess of Gloucester later presented The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service to the NeuroMuscular Centre, Woodford Lane West, Winsford, Cheshire.

St James’s Palace

The Duke of Kent, Chancellor, this evening held a Dinner at Buckingham Palace to mark the Fiftieth Anniversary of the University of Surrey.

Appendix to Court Circular

The Queen has been pleased to appoint the Reverend Canon Andrew Studdert-Kennedy to be a Chaplain to Her Majesty in succession to the Reverend Canon Dr Paul Avis.
