COURT CIRCULAR

Buckingham Palace

The Queen held a Council at 3.15pm.

There were present: the Rt Hon Andrea Leadsom MP (Lord President), the Rt Hon David Gauke MP (Secretary of State for Work and Pensions), the Rt Hon John Hayes MP (Minister of State for Transport Legislation and Maritime) and the Rt Hon Edward Young (Private Secretary to Her Majesty).

The Rt Hon Gavin Williamson MP took the Oath of Office, kissed hands upon appointment and received the Seals of Office as Secretary of State for Defence.

Mrs Ceri King was in attendance as Deputy Clerk of the Council.

The Rt Hon Andrea Leadsom MP had an audience of Her Majesty before the Council.

Clarence House

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall this morning departed Kuala Lumpur International Airport for Sarawak, Malaysia.

Their Royal Highnesses this afternoon visited Sarawak Cultural Village.

The Prince of Wales later visited Semenggoh Wildlife Centre and joined a discussion on indigenous communities.

His Royal Highness afterwards visited Sarawak Biodiversity Centre.

The Duchess of Cornwall this afternoon joined Purple Lily’s Reproductive Rights and Sexual Awareness Meeting at the Old Court House, Kuching.

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Cambridge this morning received Rear-Admiral John Weale (Flag Officer Scotland and Northern Ireland, Rear-Admiral Submarines and Assistant Chief of Naval Staff).

His Royal Highness, Patron, Skill Force, this evening attended a Dinner at the Roundhouse, Chalk Farm Road, London NW1, and was received by Ms Roxane Zand (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London).

Kensington Palace

Prince Henry of Wales this morning received Mr Stephen Doughty MP (Chairman of the All Party Parliamentary Group on HIV and AIDS) and Mr Michael Freer MP (former Chairman).

His Royal Highness, Patron, Sentebale, this evening held a Dinner at Kensington Palace.

Buckingham Palace

The Duke of York, Founder, The Duke of York Award for Technical Education, today attended Receptions and presented prizes at St James’s Palace.

His Royal Highness, Patron, Baker Dearing Educational Trust, this afternoon attended an Advisory Board Meeting at St James’s Palace.

Kensington Palace

The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester this afternoon attended the Service of Thanksgiving for the Life of Major Nicholas Barne (formerly Private Secretary to Their Royal Highnesses) which was held at St Andrew’s Church, Hingham, Norfolk, this afternoon.
