COURT CIRCULAR
Buckingham Palace
The Queen arrived at Portsmouth Harbour Station this morning and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Hampshire (Mr Nigel Atkinson) and the Lord Mayor of Portsmouth (Councillor Kenneth Ellcome).
Her Majesty drove to The Princess Royal Jetty at HM Naval Base, Portsmouth, and was received by The Princess Royal (Commodore-in-Chief, Portsmouth) and Commodore Jeremy Kyd RN (Captain of HMS Queen Elizabeth).
The Queen, accompanied by The Princess Royal and the Captain, embarked in HMS Queen Elizabeth and was received by Admiral Sir Philip Jones (First Sea Lord and Chief of the Naval Staff) before being received with a Royal Salute.
Her Majesty and Her Royal Highness inspected the Parade.
The Queen and The Princess Royal afterwards attended the Commissioning Ceremony of HMS Queen Elizabeth led by the Chaplain of the Fleet (the Venerable Ian Wheatley) and Her Majesty was graciously pleased to address the Ship’s Company and the Captain replied.
The Queen and The Princess Royal this afternoon attended a Reception onboard the Ship and met representatives of the Ship’s Company, the Aircraft Carrier Alliance and the wider Royal Navy family.
Her Majesty, with Her Royal Highness, was subsequently entertained to Luncheon by the Captain on board HMS Queen Elizabeth.
The Prince of Wales, on behalf of The Queen, held an Investiture at Buckingham Palace this morning.

The Prince of Wales this afternoon attended the Ministry of Defence Apprentice Awards Ceremony at the Ministry in Whitehall, London SW1.
The Duchess of Cornwall, President, the National Osteoporosis Society, this morning held a Meeting at Clarence House.
Kensington Palace
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Joint Patrons, the Royal Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry, today held a Board Meeting at Kensington Palace.

The Earl of Wessex, Trustee, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, and The Countess of Wessex, Chairman, Women in Business (promoting The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award), this evening held a Dinner at Frogmore House, Windsor Home Park.

The Princess Royal, Commodore-in-Chief, Portsmouth, this morning having toured the Ship, today attended the commissioning of HMS Queen Elizabeth by The Queen at HM Naval Base, Portsmouth, Hampshire.
Her Royal Highness, Patron, the Royal Three Counties Show, this afternoon attended a Reception at the Showground, Malvern, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Worcestershire (Lieutenant-Colonel Patrick Holcroft).
Kensington Palace
The Duke of Gloucester, Joint President, Cancer Research UK, this afternoon attended a Concert of Christmas Carols and Readings in Glasgow Cathedral and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the City of Glasgow (Councillor Eva Bolander, the Rt Hon the Lord Provost).
The Duchess of Gloucester this afternoon attended the Not Forgotten Association Christmas Party at St James’s Palace.
Her Royal Highness, Patron, Association for All Speech Impaired Children, this evening attended a Christmas Concert at the Church of St Andrew Holborn, London EC4.
