Divine Service was held in the Church of St Peter and St Paul, West Newton, this morning.

The Queen presented prizes for children’s Church attendance.

Buckingham Palace

The Earl and Countess of Wessex, on behalf of The Queen, this morning attended an Independence Day Parade to commemorate the Seventieth Anniversary of the Independence of Sri Lanka, at the Galle Face Ground, Galle Road, Colombo, Sri Lanka.

Their Royal Highnesses this afternoon attended a Luncheon given by the British High Commissioner to the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka (His Excellency Mr James Dauris) at the Residence in Colombo.

The Earl of Wessex, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Foundation, and The Countess of Wessex, Global Ambassador, later attended a Reception at Temple Trees, Colombo, for young people who have achieved the Gold Standard in The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.

Buckingham Palace

The Princess Royal this afternoon departed Heathrow Airport, London, for the Republic of Korea.

Kensington Palace

The Duchess of Gloucester, Honorary President, the Lawn Tennis Association, this morning attended the Davis Cup Tie Matches between Spain and Great Britain at Club de Tenis Puente Romano, Marbella, Spain.

Her Royal Highness this evening arrived at Heathrow Airport, London, from Spain.
