Her Excellency Ms. Nomatemba Tambo was received in audience by The Queen today and presented the Letters of Recall of her predecessor and her own Letters of Commission as High Commissioner for the Republic of South Africa in London.
Sir Simon McDonald (Permanent Under-Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs) was present.
Admiral Sir Philip Jones (First Sea Lord and Chief of the Naval Staff) was received by Her Majesty this afternoon.
The Queen held a Council at 5.30pm.
There were present: the Rt. Hon. Andrew Leadsom MP (Lord President), the Rt. Hon. Alistair Burt MP (Minister of State for International Development), the Rt. Hon. Gregory Clark MP (Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy) and the Rt. Hon. David Lidington (Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster).
The Rt. Hon. Mark Lancaster MP, the Right Reverend Dame Sarah Mullally, the Rt. Hon. Sir Guy Newey, the Rt. Hon. Caroline Nokes MP, the Rt. Hon. Claire Perry MP and the Rt. Hon. Sir Rabinder Singh were sworn in as members of Her Majesty’s Most Honourable Privy Council.
At the Council, The Queen pricked the List of High Sheriffs for the Counties of England (other than Cornwall and those in the Duchy of Lancaster) and Wales.
After the Council, the Rt. Hon. David Lidington had an audience of Her Majesty when The Queen pricked the List of High Sheriffs for the Counties of the Duchy of Lancaster.
Mr. Richard Tilbrook was in attendance as Clerk of the Council.
The Rt. Hon. Andrea Leadsom MP had an audience of Her Majesty before the Council.
The Rt. Hon. Theresa May MP (Prime Minister and First Lord of the Treasury) had an audience of The Queen this evening.
By command of The Queen, Mr. Alistair Harrison (Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps) called upon His Excellency Mr. Joonkook Hwang at 60 Buckingham Gate, London W1, this afternoon in order to bid farewell to His Excellency upon relinquishing his appointment as Ambassador from the Republic of Korea to the Court of St. James’s.

His Royal Highness, Patron, International Health Partners, this afternoon received Professor Richard Barker (Chairman) and Mrs. Adele Paterson (Chief Executive Officer and Head of Corporate Partnerships).
The Prince of Wales, Royal Founding Patron, University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership, later held a Meeting.
The Prince of Wales, on behalf of The Queen, this evening held a Reception at Buckingham Palace for Nursing in the United Kingdom.
The Duchess of Cornwall, Honorary Member, the Jockey Club, today attended the Cheltenham Festival at Cheltenham Racecourse and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Gloucestershire (Dame Janet Trotter).

The Countess of Wessex, Grand President, St. John Ambulance in the Priory of England and the Islands, today attended the County President’s Conference at Chapter Hall, St. John’s Gate, Clerkenwell, London EC1.
Her Royal Highness, Colonel-in-Chief, Queen Alexandra’s Royal Army Nursing Corps, this evening attended a Reception at Buckingham Palace for Nursing in the United Kingdom.

The Princess Royal this afternoon attended a Service to mark the One Hundred and Seventy Fifth Anniversary of HM Prison Pentonville in St. Paul’s Cathedral, London EC4.
Her Royal Highness, Chancellor, University of London, this evening opened the Susie Sainsbury Theatre and subsequently attended a performance of “Flight” at the Royal Academy of Music, Marylebone Road, London NW1, and was received by Commander Michael Dudgeon (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London).

The Duke of Gloucester this morning launched the Commonwealth Scholarship Alumni Network at a Reception given by the British High Commissioner to the Republic of Malawi (Her Excellency Ms. Holly Tett) at the Resident in Lilongwe, Malawi.
