Buckingham Palace
By command of The Queen, Mr Alistair Harrison (Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps) called upon His Excellency Dr Martin Eichtinger at 18 Belgrave Mews West, London SW1, this morning in order to bid farewell to His Excellency upon relinquishing his appointment as Ambassador from the Republic of Austria to the Court of St James’s.
The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh were represented by the Lord Janvrin (Permanent Lord in Waiting and formerly Private Secretary to Her Majesty) at the Service of Thanksgiving for the Life of Sir Kenneth Scott (Extra Equerry and formerly Deputy Private Secretary to The Queen) which was held in Canongate Kirk, Edinburgh, today.
The Duke of York was represented by Lieutenant Colonel Sir Malcolm Ross.
The Earl of Wessex was represented by the Lord Hope of Craighead KT.
The Princess Royal was represented by Mrs David Bowes-Lyon.
The Duke of Kent was represented by Lieutenant Colonel Johnny Stewart.
Princess Alexandra, the Hon Lady Ogilvy was represented by Mr Charles Anson.

The Duchess of Cornwall this morning received an Honorary Doctorate from the University of Chester in Chester Cathedral and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Cheshire (Mr David Briggs).

Prince Henry of Wales this morning presented wings at the Parade for the Army Pilots Course Graduating at the Army Aviation Centre, Middle Wallop, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Hampshire (Mr Nigel Atkinson).

The Earl of Wessex, Trustee, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, this morning visited Woodkirk Academy, Rein Road, Tingley, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of West Yorkshire (Dame Ingrid Roscoe).
His Royal Highness, Trustee, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, later opened the RSM Leeds Office, Central Square, 29 Wellington Street, Leeds.
The Countess of Wessex, Patron, Association of Show and Agricultural Organisations, this morning attended the National Shire Horse Show at Bingley Hall, Staffordshire County Showground, Weston Road, Stafford, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Staffordshire (Mr Ian Dudson).
Her Royal Highness, President, Girlguiding, this afternoon opened the Girlguiding Guessens District Centre, Guessens Road, Welwyn Garden City, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Hertfordshire (Mr Robert Voss).

The Princess Royal this afternoon attended the Cheltenham Festival at Cheltenham Racecourse and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Gloucestershire (Dame Janet Trotter).
Kensington Palace
The Duke of Gloucester, Grand Prior, the Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem, this afternoon invested and installed the Most Reverend Dr Thabo Makgoba (Archbishop of Cape Town) as Prior for South Africa, in Christ Church, Constantia, Cape Town.
His Royal Highness this evening departed from Cape Town International Airport for the United Kingdom.
