Buckingham Palace

The Queen and The Prince of Wales this morning visited Westminster Abbey and were received by the Dean (the Very Reverend Dr John Hall).

Her Majesty and His Royal Highness moved through the Abbey, escorted respectively by the Dean and Sir Stephen Lamport (Receiver General), before ascending in the lift to the Diamond Jubilee Galleries.

The Queen and The Prince of Wales viewed an exhibition of historical artefacts from the Abbey’s collection in the Galleries before returning to the ground floor and meeting benefactors and those involved in the development of the new Galleries.

Her Majesty, accompanied by His Royal Highness, subsequently opened the Diamond Jubilee Galleries.

The Prince of Wales this afternoon received His Excellency the Hon George Brandis (High Commissioner for the Commonwealth of Australia in London).

His Royal Highness, Colonel, Welsh Guards, this evening presided over a Conference attended by the Colonels of the Regiments of the Household Division and subsequently entertained the Colonels to Dinner at Buckingham Palace.

The Duchess of Cornwall this morning attended the live broadcast of BBC Radio 2’s Breakfast Show’s 500 Words Final at Hampton Court Palace, East Molesey, Surrey, and was received by Mrs Gillian Norton (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London).

The Duke of Cambridge, Colonel, Irish Guards, this evening attended the Senior Colonels’ Conference and Dinner at Buckingham Palace.

The Duke of Sussex, Captain General, Royal Marines, this afternoon received Lieutenant General Sir James Dutton upon relinquishing his appointment as Representative Colonel Commandant and Major General Jeffrey Mason upon assuming the appointment.

The Duke of York, Colonel, Grenadier Guards, this evening attended the Senior Colonels’ Conference and Dinner at Buckingham Palace.

The Earl of Wessex this morning attended a Meeting with the Hon Mrs Carrie Lam (Chief Executive, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, China) at Government House, Upper Albert Road, Hong Kong.

His Royal Highness, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Foundation, later carried out the following three engagements.

The Earl of Wessex first attended a Meeting at the Conrad Hotel, 88 Queensway, Admiralty, Hong Kong.

His Royal Highness this afternoon attended a Meeting at the Four Seasons Hotel, 8 Finance Street, Central, Hong Kong, followed by Luncheon.

The Earl of Wessex later visited Hong Chi Winifred Mary Cheung Morninghope School, 220 Lai King Hill Road, Kwai Chung, Hong Kong.

His Royal Highness this evening attended a Reception at the Conrad Hotel to celebrate The Queen’s Official Birthday.

The Earl of Wessex, Chancellor, University of Bath, afterwards attended a Reception, followed by a Dinner, at the Conrad Hotel and was received by Her Majesty’s Consul-General for Hong Kong (Mr Andrew Heyn).

His Royal Highness later departed Hong Kong International Airport for the United Kingdom.

The Princess Royal, Colonel, The Blues and Royals (Royal Horse Guards and 1st Dragoons), this evening attended the Senior Colonels’ Conference and Dinner at Buckingham Palace.

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Gloucester this morning visited Nothe Fort, Barrack Road, Weymouth, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Dorset (Mr Angus Campbell).

His Royal Highness this afternoon presented The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service to Swanage Railway, Station Road, Swanage, Dorset.

St James’s Palace

The Duke of Kent, Colonel, Scots Guards, this evening attended the Senior Colonels’ Conference and Dinner at Buckingham Palace.
