COURT CIRCULAR

Palace of Holyroodhouse

The King held an Investiture at the Palace of Holyroodhouse this morning.

His Majesty afterwards presented Honours at the Palace of Holyroodhouse to members of the Army who were involved in the Lying at Rest of The late Queen Elizabeth II in St Giles’ Cathedral.

The King and Queen this afternoon attended a Service of Thanksgiving and Dedication in St Giles’ Cathedral to celebrate Their Majesties’ Coronation and were received by the Lord Lyon King of Arms (Dr Joseph Morrow), the Minister of St Giles’ (the Reverend Calum MacLeod), the Dean of His Majesty’s Chapel Royal in Scotland (the Right Reverend Professor David Fergusson) and the Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland (the Right Reverend Sally Foster-Fulton).

During the Service the Honours of Scotland were presented to The King.

The Prince William, Duke of Rothesay and The Duchess of Rothesay were present.

The King and Queen, from the Palace of Holyroodhouse, witnessed a fly-past to mark Their Majesties’ Coronation.

Later, the Hon Hamish Macfarlane was received by His Majesty and delivered up the Badge and Star of the Most Ancient and Most Noble Order of the Thistle worn by his father, the late Lord Macfarlane of Bearsden.

The Earl of Home was received by The King and delivered up the Badge and Star of the Most Ancient and Most Noble Order of the Thistle worn by his father, the late Earl of Home.

The King and Queen this evening attended a Reception for The King’s Body Guard for Scotland, Royal Company of Archers at Archers’ Hall, 66 Buccleuch Street, Edinburgh.

The Queen this morning visited the Regenerative Textiles Exhibition at Dovecot Studios, 10 Infirmary Street, Edinburgh, and was received by His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the City of Edinburgh (Councillor Robert Aldridge, the Rt Hon the Lord Provost).

St James’s Palace

The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh this morning attended a Service for the Seventy Fifth Anniversary of the National Health Service in Westminster Abbey, London, SW1.

The Duchess of Edinburgh this morning opened King’s Academy, Loughborough Junction, London SE2, and was received by Colonel Jane Davis (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London).

Her Royal Highness, Chairman, Women in Business Committee, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, this afternoon held a Meeting.

The Duchess of Edinburgh this evening took the salute at Beating Retreat by the Massed Bands of the Household Division on Horse Guards Parade, London SW1.

St James’s Palace

The Princess Royal this morning opened the Royal Hospital for Children and Young People and the Department of Clinical Neurosciences, National Health Service Lothian, 50 Little France Crescent, Edinburgh, and was received by Mr James Thomson (Deputy Lieutenant of the City of Edinburgh).

Her Royal Highness, Chancellor, the University of Edinburgh, this afternoon opened King’s Buildings Nucleus Building, West Mains Road, Edinburgh, and was received by Mr Edward Green (Deputy Lieutenant of the City of Edinburgh).

The Princess Royal, Patron, Wetwheels Foundation, later launched WETWHEELS EDINBURGH Accessible Boat at Port Edgar Marina, South Queensferry, Edinburgh.

Her Royal Highness afterwards received Professor M Coffey (Professor in Livestock Informatics, Scotland’s Rural College, and Head of Edinburgh Genetic Evaluation Services).

The Princess Royal, Patron, the Eric Liddell 100, this evening attended a Dinner at the Waldorf Astoria Edinburgh, the Caledonian, Princes Street, Edinburgh, and was received by His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the City of Edinburgh (Councillor Robert Aldridge, the Rt Hon. the Lord Provost).

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Gloucester this morning visited the Flood and Water Live Exhibition at Dyson Farming, Carrington, and was received by Mr Andrew Clark (His Majesty’s Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Lincolnshire).

His Royal Highness afterwards visited the Cornhill Quarter, 32 Sincil Street, Lincoln, and was received by Ms Ursula Lidbetter (Deputy Lieutenant of Lincolnshire).

The Duke of Gloucester this afternoon visited Witham Oil, Outer Circle Road, Lincoln, and was received by Mr Ian Walter (Deputy Lieutenant of Lincolnshire).

The Duchess of Gloucester, Honorary President, today attended the Lawn Tennis Association President’s Lunch and afterwards attended the Championships at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, Wimbledon, London SW19.
