The King and Queen this evening held a performance by the Royal Shakespeare Company and a Reception at Windsor Castle to celebrate the Four Hundredth Anniversary of the publication of the First Folio and the contribution of William Shakespeare’s Works to the Literary Culture and Society of the United Kingdom.
The Duchess of Edinburgh and The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester were present.
The Queen, Patron, The Queen’s Reading Room, this afternoon received Miss Victoria Perrin (Director) at Windsor Castle.
St James’s Palace
The Duke of Edinburgh, Chancellor, this afternoon visited the Medical Build Laboratory at the University of Bath, Claverton Down, Bath, Somerset.
His Royal Highness, Chancellor, later presided at a Degree Congregation for the University of Bath at Bath Abbey and was received by Mr Edward Allen (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Somerset).
The Duke of Edinburgh, Chancellor, this evening attended a Reception for the University of Bath at Guildhall, High Street, Bath.
The Duchess of Edinburgh, Colonel-in-Chief, this morning visited 9th Theatre Support Battalion, The Corps of Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers at New Normandy Barracks, Aldershot Garrison, Hampshire, and was received by His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Hampshire (Mr Nigel Atkinson).
Her Royal Highness, Patron, this afternoon held a Meeting for Disability Initiative.

The Princess Royal, Patron, English Rural Housing Association, accompanied by Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, this morning opened a new development at Bartlett Close, Staple, Canterbury, followed by a Reception at Staple Village Hall, Mill Road, Staple, and was received by Brigadier Trevor Minter (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Kent).
Her Royal Highness Patron, the Remembrance Trust, accompanied by Admiral Laurence, this afternoon visited St James’s Cemetery, Old Charlton Road, Dover, and was received by Mr Frank Martin (Deputy Lieutenant of Kent).
The Princess Royal, Royal Patron, National Coastwatch Institution, accompanied by Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, later visited Folkestone Station, Copt Point, Wear Bay Road, Folkestone, Kent, to mark its Twenty Fifth Anniversary, followed by a Reception at Folkestone Yacht and Motorboat Club, the Harbour, North Street, Folkestone.
