The King and Queen left Farnborough Airport, Hampshire, this morning for the State Visit to France.
Their Majesties were received at the Airport by the Lord Parker of Minsmere (Lord Chamberlain) and His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Hampshire (Mr Nigel Atkinson).
The King and Queen this afternoon arrived at Paris-Orly Airport and were received by His Majesty’s Ambassador to the French Republic (Her Excellency Dame Menna Rawlings), the Ambassador from the French Republic to the Court of St James’s (Mrs Hélène Duchêne) and the Prime Minister of the French Republic (Madame Élisabeth Borne).
The King and Queen drove to the Arc de Triomphe and were received by The President of the French Republic and Madame Macron.
His Majesty was received with a Royal Salute and inspected the Guard of Honour.
The King and The President of the French Republic laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and rekindled the Eternal Flame, and subsequently signed the Livre d’Or.
His Majesty and The President, with Her Majesty and Madame Macron, afterwards drove in a ceremonial procession to the Élysée Palace, accompanied by a mounted escort of the Republican Guard.
The King, accompanied by The President of the French Republic, later walked to the Residence of His Majesty’s Ambassador, where The King and The President planted a tree gifted by The President.
The King and Queen were entertained this evening at a State Banquet given by The President of the French Republic and Madame Macron at the Palace of Versailles.
The following are in attendance: the Rt Hon James Cleverly MP (Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs), the Rt Hon Sir Clive Alderton, Mr Christopher Fitzgerald, Ms Eva Omaghomi, Mr Tobyn Andreae, Ms Laura Sullivan, Dr Douglas Glass, Lieutenant Colonel Jonathan Thompson and Mrs Sophia Densham.
Kensington Palace
The Prince of Wales this morning arrived at Heathrow Airport, London, from the United States of America.
Mr Jean-Christophe Gray, Mr Lee Thompson, Mr David Hunt and Mr Louis Reynolds were in attendance.
The Princess of Wales, Joint Patron, the Royal Foundation of The Prince and Princess of Wales, this morning held a Meeting at Windsor Castle.
St James’s Palace
The Duchess of Edinburgh this morning attended a Lieutenancy Charity Meeting at Coldharbour Mill, Uffculme, Cullompton, and was received by His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Devon (Mr David Fursdon).
St James’s Palace
The Princess Royal, Patron, Police Treatment Centres, this morning visited the St Andrews Centre, Harlow Moor Road, Harrogate, and was received by His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of North Yorkshire (Mrs Johanna Ropner).
Her Royal Highness later visited Claro Enterprises Community Workshop, Spa Road, Harrogate, to mark its Thirtieth Anniversary.
The Princess Royal this afternoon visited Woods of Harrogate Limited Fine Linens Company, Prince Albert Row, 65-69 Station Parade, Harrogate.
Her Royal Highness later visited Hollybank Trust Care Centre, Far Common Road, Mirfield, to mark its Seventieth Anniversary, and was received by Mrs Helen Thompson (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of West Yorkshire).
