The Duke of Edinburgh, Patron, The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Foundation, today carried out engagements in Istanbul, Turkey.

His Royal Highness this morning visited Kabatas Erkek Lisesi School.

The Duke of Edinburgh afterwards attended a Meeting with Representatives of The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award – Turkey at Kabatas Erkek Lisesi School.

His Royal Highness this afternoon held a Reception at the British Consulate General Istanbul for young people who have achieved the Gold Standard in the Award.

The Duke of Edinburgh this evening attended a Reception for World Fellows at the Grand Tarabya Hotel.

His Royal Highness later attended a Gala Dinner at the Grand Tarabya Hotel.

The Duchess of Edinburgh this afternoon departed from Heathrow Airport, London, for Italy and was received upon arrival later at Leonardo da Vinci-Fiumicino Airport, Rome, by His Majesty’s Ambassador to the Italian Republic (His Excellency the Rt Hon Edward Llewellyn).
