The Princess Royal, on behalf of The King, held an Investiture at Windsor Castle this morning.
The King was represented by The Duchess of Edinburgh at the Funeral of Mr Giorgio Napolitano (former President of the Italian Republic) which was held at the Chamber of Deputies of the Italian Parliament in Rome, Italy, this morning.
By command of The King, Mr Alistair Harrison (Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps) this morning called upon Her Excellency Mrs Saroja Sirisena at 13 Hyde Park Gardens, London W2, in order to bid farewell to Her Excellency upon relinquishing her appointment as High Commissioner for the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka in London.
By command of His Majesty, the Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps later received Her Excellency Ms Guisell Morales-Echaverry at St James’s Palace in order to bid farewell to Her Excellency upon relinquishing her appointment as Ambassador from the Republic of Nicaragua to the Court of St James’s.
By command of The King, the Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps afterwards called upon Her Excellency Mrs Aleksandra Joksimovi at 28 Belgrave Square, London SW1, in order to bid farewell to Her Excellency upon relinquishing her appointment as Ambassador from the Republic of Serbia to the Court of St James’s.
Kensington Palace
The Princess of Wales this afternoon visited A. W. Hainsworth and Sons Limited, Spring Valley Mills, Stanningley, Pudsey, and was received by His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of West Yorkshire (Mr Edmund Anderson).
Her Royal Highness later visited Standfast and Barracks, Caton Road, Lancaster, and was received by Mrs Christine Kirk (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Lancashire).
St James’s Palace
The Duke of Edinburgh, Patron, The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Foundation, this morning met Award Participants at Tarabya British Primary School, Istanbul, Turkey.
His Royal Highness, Patron, The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Foundation, this afternoon attended a Lunch at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Bodrum.
The Duke of Edinburgh, Patron, The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Foundation, later attended a Garden Party at the British Consulate General Istanbul.
His Royal Highness this evening visited the Basilica Cistern, Istanbul.
St James’s Palace
The Princess Royal, Royal Colonel, 1st Battalion The Ranger Regiment, this afternoon received Lieutenant Colonel Frank Reeves upon relinquishing his appointment as Commanding Officer and Lieutenant Colonel Nicholas Colquhoun upon assuming the appointment.
Her Royal Highness later opened the renovated Old War Office Building, Whitehall, London SW1, and was received by His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London (Sir Kenneth Olisa).
The Princess Royal this evening attended the Royal Warrant Holders Association’s President’s Reception at Westminster Abbey, London SW1.
Her Royal Highness, Patron, Mercy Ships International, later attended a Forty Fifth Anniversary Dinner onboard The Elizabethan, sailing on the River Thames, and was received by Colonel Simon Duckworth (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London).
