The King and Queen left Royal Air Force Brize Norton, Oxfordshire, this morning for the Royal Visit to Kenya.
Their Majesties were received at the Airport by the Lord Parker of Minsmere (Lord Chamberlain) and His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Oxfordshire (Mrs Marjorie Glasgow).
The King and Queen were received this evening upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, Nairobi, by the British High Commissioner to the Republic of Kenya (His Excellency Mr Neil Wigan) and the Hon Musalia Mudavadi (Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs).
The following are in attendance: the Rt Hon James Cleverly MP (Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs), Sir Clive Alderton, Mr Christopher Fitzgerald, Miss Eva Omaghomi, Mr Tobyn Andreae, Miss Laura Sullivan, Professor Charles Deakin, Lieutenant Colonel Jonathan Thompson, Mrs Belinda Kim, Dr Michael Dixon and Major Oliver Plunket.
St James’s Palace
The Duke of Edinburgh, Chancellor, University of Bath, this afternoon chaired the Committee of the Vice Chancellor.
Kensington Palace
The Duke of Gloucester this morning visited St John the Evangelist Church Piddinghoe, Lewes Road, Piddinghoe, and was received by His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of East Sussex (Mr Andrew Blackman).
His Royal Highness this afternoon visited St Michael and All Angels Church, Berwick, Polegate, and was received by Mr Graham Peters (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of East Sussex).
The Duke of Gloucester afterwards visited Glynde Place, Glynde, East Sussex.
His Royal Highness later visited Southover Grange Gardens, 18 Eastport Lane, Southover Road, Lewes.
