The Residence, Nairobi, Kenya
The King and Queen this morning drove to State House, Nairobi, and were received by The President of the Republic of Kenya and Mrs Ruto.
Their Majesties were welcomed with a Royal Salute and The King inspected the Guard of Honour.
The King and Queen, accompanied by The President of the Republic of Kenya and Mrs Ruto, drove to Uhuru Gardens National Monument and Museum, Nairobi, and were received by the Cabinet Secretary for Defence (the Hon Aden Duale), the Chief of the Defence Forces (General Francis Ogolla) and the Director of Uhuru Gardens National Monument and Museum (Colonel Catherine Lagat).
His Majesty, with The President, laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Warrior, before proceeding on foot, accompanied by Her Majesty and Mrs Ruto, to view the Mugumo Tree.
The King and Queen, accompanied by The President of the Republic of Kenya and Mrs Ruto, subsequently visited Mashujaa Museum, Nairobi.
Their Majesties afterwards drove to Makadara Huduma Centre, Nyasa Road, Nairobi and, having been received by the Deputy Country Director of the British Council (Ms Mukami Kowino), met members of the public.
The King and Queen visited Eastlands Library, Makadara Huduma Centre.
At the Library, His Majesty joined a Prince’s Trust International Enterprise Challenge Showcase and was received by the Chief Executive Officer of Prince’s Trust International (Mr William Straw).
Her Majesty, Patron, BookAid International, and Vice-Patron, Royal Commonwealth Society, met winners and judges of the Commonwealth Essay Competition and participated in a reading session with children.
The King later visited City Shamba, Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital, Nairobi, and was received by the Chief Executive Officer of City Shamba (Mr Gregory Kimani) and the Nutritionist at Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital (Ms Jane Gathogo).
His Majesty, accompanied by the Chief Executive Officer and Nutritionist, visited the open-air garden, viewing a display of different vegetable farming methodologies, before touring the City Shamba urban farm.
The King afterwards visited Nairobi Garage and, having been received by the Deputy Director of UK-Kenya Tech Hub (Mr Enos Weswa), met Youth and Climate Innovators, and workers from start-ups.
The King and Queen were entertained this evening at a State Banquet given by The President of the Republic of Kenya and Mrs Ruto at State House.

The Prince of Wales, Joint Patron, the Royal Foundation of The Prince and Princess of Wales, this afternoon received Ms Fara Williams (Advocate, “Homewards” Programme).

The Duke of Edinburgh, Patron, The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Foundation, this evening held an International Special Projects Dinner.

The Princess Royal, Patron, Moredun Foundation, this afternoon attended a Conference at Moredun Research Institute, Pentlands Science Park, Bush Loan, Penicuik, and was received by His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Midlothian (Lieutenant Colonel Richard Callander).
Her Royal Highness, Royal Patron, Leuchie Forever Fund, later attended a Reception to launch Leuchie House’s new strategy, the Signet Library, Parliament Square, Edinburgh, and was received by Mr Kingsley Thomas (Deputy Lieutenant of the City of Edinburgh).
The Princess Royal, Chancellor, the University of Edinburgh, this evening held a Chancellor’s Dinner at the Palace of Holyroodhouse and was received by Dame Susan Bruce (Deputy Lieutenant of the City of Edinburgh).
