Buckingham Palace
The King, accompanied by The Queen, travelled in State to the Palace of Westminster today to open the Session of Parliament.
Their Majesties drove in a Carriage Procession, escorted by a Sovereign’s Escort of The Household Cavalry, under the command of Major William Charlesworth, The Blues and Royals, and were received at the Sovereign’s Entrance by the Earl Marshal and the Lord Great Chamberlain.
Guards of Honour were mounted at Buckingham Palace by 1st Battalion Welsh Guards with The King’s Colour, under the command of Major Andrew Campbell, and at the Palace of Westminster by F Company Scots Guards with the State Colour, under the command of Major James Drummond Moray.
A staircase party of The Household Cavalry was on duty at Victoria Tower, House of Lords, under the command of Captain Mark Quickfall.
Royal Salutes were fired in Green Park by The King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery, under the command of Major John Baileff, and from the Tower of London Saluting Battery by the Honourable Artillery Company, under the command of Major Matthew Aldridge.
The Imperial State Crown, the Cap of Maintenance and the Sword of State were conveyed previously to the House of Lords in a Carriage Procession, escorted by a Regalia Escort of the Household Cavalry.
His Majesty’s Body Guard of the Honourable Corps of Gentlemen at Arms was on duty in the Prince’s Chamber and the King’s Body Guard of the Yeomen of the Guard.
The King’s Bargemaster and Watermen were on duty.
The Ladies and Gentlemen of the Household and the Pages of Honour to The King (Nicholas Barclay, Ralph Tollemache, Charles van Cutsem and Lord Oliver Cholmondeley) and the Pages of Honour to The Queen (William Keswick and Arthur Elliott) were in attendance at the Palace of Westminster.
Their Majesties returned to Buckingham Palace and were received by the Lord Chamberlain and the Vice-Chamberlain of the Household.
The King and Queen this evening attended the Royal Ballet’s performance of Carlos Acosta’s “Don Quixote” at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, London WC2, to recognise and thank front line National Health Service workers, and education and arts providers, and were received by His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London (Sir Kenneth Olisa), Sir Lloyd Dorfman (Chairman of the Royal Opera House) and Mr. Alexander Beard (Chief Executive).

The Prince of Wales, President, the Earthshot Prize, today undertook the following engagements in Singapore:
His Royal Highness this morning held a Meeting with Finalists of the 2023 Earthshot Prize Awards at Gardens by the Bay, Marina Gardens Drive.
The Prince of Wales this afternoon attended a Founding Partners’ Lunch at Eden Hall, Nassim Road, and was received by the British High Commissioner to the Republic of Singapore (Her Excellency Mrs. Kara Owen).
His Royal Highness later visited EcoLabs at Nanyang Technological University, Cleantech Loop.
The Prince of Wales this evening attended the Earthshot Prize Awards at the Theatre at Mediacorp.
His Royal Highness subsequently attended an Earthshot Prize Thank You Reception at the Theatre at Mediacorp.
St James’s Palace
The Duke of Edinburgh, Member, the Worshipful Company of Haberdashers, this morning officially opened Haberdashers’ Borough Academy, 94B Southwark Bridge Road, London SE1, and was received by Colonel Simon Duckworth (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London).
His Royal Highness, Patron, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, this evening attended a Dinner at Rotunda Bar and Restaurant, 90 York Way, London N1.
The Duchess of Edinburgh this morning called upon the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario (the Hon. Elizabeth Dowdeswell) and the Hon. Edith Dumont (Lieutenant Governor designate of Ontario) at Queen’s Park Legislative Building, 111 Wellesley West Street, Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Her Royal Highness, Patron, Toronto Western and General Hospital, this afternoon visited Toronto Western Hospital, 399 Bathurst Street, Toronto.
The Duchess of Edinburgh this evening attended a Dinner for supporters of the University Health Network Foundation at the Four Seasons Hotel Toronto, 60 Yorkville Avenue, Toronto.

The Princess Royal, Gold Stick in Waiting, was present today at the State Opening of the Session of Parliament by The King.
Her Royal Highness this afternoon opened the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service Museum of Scottish Fire Heritage and the McDonald Road Community Fire and Ambulance Station, McDonald Road, Edinburgh, and was received by His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the City of Edinburgh (Councillor Robert Aldridge, the Rt. Hon. the Lord Provost).
The Princess Royal, Patron, the Eric Liddell 100, this evening attended the inaugural Lecture and Reception on board FINGAL, Alexandra Dock, Leith, Edinburgh.
Kensington Palace
The Duke of Gloucester this morning presented The King’s Award for International Trade to Fulkrum Technical Resources, Unit 1, Exchange Court, Corby, and was received by His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Northamptonshire (Mr. James Saunders Watson).
His Royal Highness afterwards visited Corby Sixth Form College, Queen’s Square, Corby.
The Duke of Gloucester this afternoon officially opened the Active in Motion Wellbeing Centre at Adrenaline Alley, 6 Priors Haw Road, Corby.
His Royal Highness later visited Cransley Hospice Trust, St. Mary’s Hospital Site, 77 London Road, Kettering, to mark its Twenty Fifth Anniversary.
