Balmoral Castle
The Princess Royal, on behalf of The King, held an Investiture at the Palace of Holyroodhouse this morning.
The King was represented by Sir Stephen Lamport (Extra Equerry to His Majesty) at the Funeral of Mr Oliver Everett (former Royal Librarian and Assistant Keeper of The Queen’s Archives) at Dunmow Crematorium, Great Dunmow, Essex, this afternoon.
The King was represented by Brigadier Sir Melville Jameson at the Service of Thanksgiving for Lieutenant General Sir Norman Arthur (former Lord-Lieutenant of the Stewartry of Kirkcudbright and Governor of Edinburgh Castle) which was held at Colvend Parish Church, Colvend, Kirkcudbrightshire, this afternoon.
The Duke of Kent was represented by Brigadier Benjamin Edwards.
Princess Alexandra, the Hon Lady Ogilvy was represented by Lady Ross.
St James’s Palace
The Duke of Edinburgh, Patron, this afternoon visited Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, 200 Jennens Road, Birmingham, and was received by Group Captain Ian Sargeant (Deputy Lieutenant of West Midlands).
His Royal Highness, Patron, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, afterwards visited Symphony Hall, Centenary Square, Birmingham, and was received by Mr Afzal Hussain (Deputy Lieutenant of West Midlands).
The Duke of Edinburgh, Patron, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, this evening attended a Concert at Symphony Hall and was received by His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of West Midlands (Sir John Crabtree).
St James’s Palace
The Princess Royal, Chancellor, the University of Edinburgh, this afternoon attended a Reception to mark the Sixtieth Anniversary of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence, Central University Campus, 10 Crichton Street, Edinburgh, and was received by Dame Susan Bruce (Deputy Lieutenant of the City of Edinburgh).
Her Royal Highness, Chancellor, the University of Edinburgh, later opened the Institute for Regeneration and Repair, 4-5 Little France Drive, Edinburgh BioQuarter, Edinburgh.
The Princess Royal, Honorary Member, New Club, Edinburgh, this evening attended the Seventieth Anniversary Amalgamation Dinner, the New Club, 86 Princes Street, Edinburgh, and was received by Mrs Jacqueline Easson (Deputy Lieutenant of the City of Edinburgh).
Kensington Palace
The Duke of Gloucester, Colonel-in-Chief, Royal Army Medical Corps, this morning received Brigadier Robin Simpson upon relinquishing his appointment as Representative Colonel Commandant and Brigadier Martin Nadin upon assuming the appointment.
St James’s Palace
The Duke of Kent, President, Royal National Lifeboat Institution, this morning received Mr Mark Dowie (Chief Executive) at Kensington Palace.
