The Queen, Royal Honorary Air Commodore, Royal Air Force Halton, this morning received Group Captain Fergus Garwood upon relinquishing his appointment as Station Commander and Wing Commander Peter Seanor upon assuming the appointment.

Her Majesty, Patron, this afternoon held a Reception at Clarence House to celebrate the One Hundredth Anniversary of the Royal British Legion Poppy Factory.

The Princess Royal this afternoon visited the Ordnance Survey National Mapping Agency, Explorer House, Adanac Drive, Southampton, and was received by His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Hampshire (Mr Nigel Atkinson).

Her Royal Highness, accompanied by Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, later attended Evensong and the James Caird Society’s Dedication Service followed by a Reception in Westminster Abbey, London SW1, to mark the One Hundred and Fiftieth Anniversary of the birth of Sir Ernest Shackleton.
