COURT CIRCULAR

Buckingham Palace

The King received the Bishop of Peterborough (the Right Reverend Deborah Sellin) today who did homage upon her appointment.

His Majesty received the Bishop of Birmingham (the Right Reverend Michael Volland) who did homage upon his appointment.

The Rt Hon Alexander Chalk MP (Lord Chancellor and Secretary of State for Justice) administered the Oaths.

The Bishop of Hereford (Clerk of the Closet) was in attendance.

The King was represented by Professor Medwin Hughes (Chairman of the Representative Body of the Church in Wales) at the Service of Thanksgiving for the Life of the Lord Rowe-Beddoe (former Chairman) which was held at St Margaret’s Church, Westminster Abbey, London SW1, today.

By command of His Majesty, Mr Alistair Harrison (Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps) called upon His Excellency Mr Manoah Esipisu at 45 Portland Place, London W1, this morning in order to bid farewell to His Excellency upon relinquishing his appointment as High Commissioner for the Republic of Kenya in London.

St James’s Palace

The Princess Royal, accompanied by Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, this morning named a Great Western Railway Intercity Express Train HRH The Princess Royal at Paddington Railway Station, Praed Street, London W2, and was received by Mr Stuart Shilson (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London).

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Gloucester, Patron, World Monuments Fund Britain, this evening attended a Dinner at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, Richmond, Surrey, in celebration of Heritage.
