Buckingham Palace

The King, Patron, Royal Society for the Protection of Birds, this morning visited Forsinard Flows Visitor Centre to mark the Flow Country’s listing as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and was received at Forsinard Railway Station by His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Sutherland (Major General Patrick Marriott) and the Chair of Flow Country World Heritage Site Steering Group (Mrs Frances Gunn).

His Majesty, escorted by the Chair, proceeded on foot to the Visitor Centre and met scientists and steering group members responsible for the World Heritage bid, before meeting members of the local community.

By command of The King, Mr Alistair Harrison (Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps) called upon His Excellency Mr José Alberto Briz Gutierrez at 105A Westbourne Grove, London W2, this morning in order to bid farewell to His Excellency upon relinquishing his appointment as Ambassador from the Republic of Guatemala to the Court of St James’s.

The Princess Royal, Member, International Olympic Committee, and President, British Olympic Association, accompanied by Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, today attended the XXXIII Olympic Games in Paris, France.

Her Royal Highness, President, British Olympic Association, accompanied by Admiral Laurence, this afternoon visited the Olympic Village, Pleyel, Bords de Seine, Saint-Denis.
