Buckingham Palace

The King this evening received members of the New Zealand Women’s Rugby Union team.

Afterwards The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria visited His Majesty.

The King was represented by Air Chief Marshal Sir Richard Johns (former Chief of the Air Staff) at a Service of Thanksgiving for the Life of Air Marshal Sir Peter Norriss which was held at Bath Abbey this afternoon.

St James’s Palace

The Duke of Edinburgh, Chairman, The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Foundation, and The Duchess of Edinburgh, Global Ambassador, this evening attended the “Beyond the Classroom” Celebration Dinner at Frameless, 6 Marble Arch, London W1.

The Princess Royal this afternoon visited Estuary Services Limited and named a Pilot Vessel at Commercial Quay, Ramsgate Royal Harbour, Ramsgate, followed by a Reception at Royal Temple Yacht Club, Ramsgate, and was received by His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Kent (the Lady Colgrain).

Her Royal Highness, Patron, English Rural Housing Association, later opened a new development at Carpenters Yard, Shepherdswell, Dover, Kent.

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Gloucester, Patron, the Royal Pavilion and Museums Trust, this morning received Mr Michael Bedingfield (Chairman) and Mr Hedley Swain (Chief Executive Officer).

The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester this afternoon attended a Service in St Paul’s Cathedral, London EC4, to mark the Two Hundred and Fiftieth Anniversary of the Royal Humane Society and afterwards attended a Reception at Guildhall, Gresham Street, London EC2.
