Balmoral Castle

The Hon Shehbaz Sharif (Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan) spoke to The King via telephone this morning.

His Majesty afterwards held a Meeting with the Baroness Scotland of Asthal (Commonwealth Secretary-General) via telephone.

The King this evening attended Beating Retreat by Balaklava Company, The Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders, 5th Battalion The Royal Regiment of Scotland at Balmoral Castle and subsequently attended a Reception given by the Guard Commander (Major Neil Cargill).

By command of His Majesty, Mr Alistair Harrison (Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps) called upon His Excellency Mr Thani Thongphakdi at 29-30 Queen’s Gate, London SW7, this afternoon in order to bid farewell to His Excellency upon relinquishing his appointment as Ambassador from the Kingdom of Thailand to the Court of St James’s.

The Duke of Edinburgh, President, the Royal Theatrical Support Trust, this evening attended a Reception and Performance of “Abigail’s Party” at Northern Stage, Barras Bridge, Newcastle upon Tyne.

The Duchess of Edinburgh, Global Ambassador, International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness, this morning visited Mlandizi Health Centre, Kibaha, Tanzania.

Her Royal Highness, Global Ambassador, International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness, this afternoon visited Vikuruti Village.

The Duchess of Edinburgh this evening departed from Julius Nyerere International Airport, Dar es Salaam, for Zanzibar and was received later upon arrival at Abeid Amani Karume International Airport by the Hon Nassor Ahmed Mazrui (Minister of Health, Zanzibar).

The Princess Royal, Patron, National Museum of the Royal Navy, this morning received Professor Dominic Tweddle upon relinquishing his appointment as Director General and Mr Matthew Sheldon upon assuming the appointment.

Her Royal Highness, President, UK Fashion and Textile Association, later visited ApparelTASKER Sustainable Garment Manufacturer, 1 Bowood House, Empson Street, London E3, and was received by Mr Leslie Morgan (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London).

The Duke of Gloucester, Patron, Homeopathy UK, this morning received Ms Monica Price (Chief Executive Officer).

The Duke of Gloucester, Patron, the London Playing Fields Foundation, this afternoon visited Douglas Eyre Sports Centre, Coppermill Lane, London E17, to mark the Fiftieth Anniversary of His Royal Highness’s patronage, and officially opened the new all-weather pitch.

The Duchess of Gloucester, as Patron, this morning visited Royal Alexandra and Albert School, Gatton Park, Reigate, to mark the Fiftieth Anniversary of Her Royal Highness’s Presidency of the Foundation and was received by Brigadier Ingrid Rolland (Deputy Lieutenant of Surrey).
