The King held a Council at 4.30pm.
There were present: the Rt Hon Lucy Powell MP (Lord President), the Rt Hon Shabana Mahmood MP (Lord Chancellor and Secretary of State for Justice), the Rt Hon Ian Murray MP (Secretary of State for Scotland) and the Rt Hon Wesley Streeting MP (Secretary of State for Health and Social Care).
The Baroness Morgan of Ely and the Rt Hon John Swinney MSP were sworn in as members of His Majesty’s Most Honourable Privy Council.
Mr Richard Tilbrook was in attendance as Clerk of the Council.
The Rt Hon Sir Clive Alderton (Principal Private Secretary to Their Majesties) was in attendance.
The Rt Hon Lucy Powell MP had an audience of His Majesty before the Council.
The King later received Dr Enric Sala (Founder, National Geographic Society’s Pristine Seas) and Ms Kristin Rechberger (Advisory Board Member).
Afterwards the Rt Hon David Lammy MP (Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs) was received in audience by His Majesty.
The King and Queen, in advance of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Samoa, this evening held a Reception at St James’s Palace to celebrate the Commonwealth Diaspora.
The Duchess of Edinburgh and The Duke of Kent were present.
The Prince of Wales, on behalf of The King, held an Investiture at Windsor Castle this morning.

The Duchess of Edinburgh, Patron, Nursing Memorial Appeal, later attended the Nursing Memorial Appeal Bursary Buddy Award launch at the University Women’s Club, 2 Audley Square, London W1.

The Princess Royal this morning visited Blackburn Meadows Bio-Mass Power Plant at Tinsley, Sheffield, and was received by His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of South Yorkshire (Dame Hilary Chapman).
Her Royal Highness later visited Sheffield Forgemasters, Brightside Lane, Sheffield.
The Princess Royal this afternoon visited Loadhog at the Hog Works, Alfred Road, Sheffield.
Her Royal Highness later opened the University of Sheffield’s Gene Therapy Innovation and Manufacturing Centre, Europa Avenue, Sheffield Business Park, Tinsley, Sheffield.

The Duke of Gloucester this morning met representatives from the New Forest National Parks Authority at spudWORKS, Station Road, Sway, near Lymington, and was received by His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Hampshire (Mr Nigel Atkinson).
