COURT CIRCULAR
Buckingham Palace
The King left Heathrow Airport, London, this morning to visit Australia and Samoa and be present at the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Apia, Upolu, Samoa.
His Majesty was received at the Airport by the Lord Parker of Minsmere (Lord Chamberlain) and the Lord Benyon of Englefield (Lord Chamberlain designate).
The following are in attendance: the Rt Hon Sir Clive Alderton, Mr Christopher Fitzgerald, Dr Nathan Ross, Mr Tobyn Andreae, Professor Charles Deakin and Mrs Sophia Densham.
Kensington Palace
The Prince of Wales, Duke of Cornwall this morning visited Duchy College, Stoke Climsland, Callington, and was received by His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Cornwall (Colonel Sir Edward Bolitho).
St James’s Palace
The Duke of Edinburgh this morning visited Barnsley Town Hall, Church Street, Barnsley, and was received by His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of South Yorkshire (Professor Dame Hilary Chapman).
His Royal Highness this afternoon viewed redevelopment work in Barnsley Town Centre and formally dedicated the Tommy Taylor Memorial Bridge.
The Duke of Edinburgh afterwards visited Barnsley Youth Choir at St Mary’s Church, Church Street, Barnsley.
His Royal Highness later visited the Exodus Project, South Hiendley, Barnsley.
The Duke of Edinburgh, Patron, the National Youth Theatre of Great Britain, this evening attended a performance of “the War of the Worlds” at Wilton’s Music Hall, 1 Graces Alley, London E1.
St James’s Palace
The Princess Royal, Patron, the Cathedral Church of Saint German Peel Development Appeal, having been received by the Lieutenant Governor of the Isle of Man (Lieutenant General Sir John Lorimer), this morning attended a Thanksgiving Service in St German’s Cathedral, Peel, Isle of Man.
Her Royal Highness this afternoon visited the Manx National Heritage “All at Sea” Exhibition, House of Manannan, Station Place, Peel.
The Princess Royal, Grand Master, the Royal Victorian Order, this evening attended Evensong and a Reception at The King’s Chapel of the Savoy, Savoy Hill, London WC2.
Her Royal Highness, President, the Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce, later attended a Reception to mark the Two Hundred and Fiftieth Anniversary of RSA House at 8 John Adam Street, London WC2, and was received by Mr Stuart Shilson (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London).
Kensington Palace
The Duke of Kent, President, the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund, this morning visited the Royal Air Force Museum London at Grahame Park Way, London NW9, and was received by Mr Martin Russell (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London).
