The King and Queen this morning attended a Service at St Thomas’ Anglican Church, Sydney, New South Wales, and were received by the Archbishop of the Anglican Diocese of Sydney (the Most Reverend Kanishka Raffel) and the Right Reverend Christopher Edwards (Bishop of North Sydney).

Their Majesties signed the Richard Johnson Bible and subsequently met members of the public outside the Church.

The King afterwards drove to the Parliament of New South Wales and was received at Parliament House by the President of the Legislative Council (the Hon Benjamin Franklin), the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly (the Hon Gregory Piper MP) and Usher of the Black Rod (Ms Jenelle Moore).

His Majesty attended a Reception to mark the Bicentenary of the New South Wales Legislative Council and addressed those present.

The King and Queen this afternoon received the Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia (the Hon Samantha Mostyn) and Mr Simon Beckett at Admiralty House.

The Governor of New South Wales (the Hon Ms Margaret Beazley) was received by His Majesty.
