COURT CIRCULAR

Upolu, Samoa

The King and Queen this morning left Australia for Samoa and were received at Sydney (Kingsford Smith) Airport by the Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia (the Hon Samantha Mostyn) and the Governor of New South Wales (the Hon Margaret Beazley).

Their Majesties this evening arrived at Faleolo International Airport, Upolu, and were received by the British High Commissioner to the Independent State of Samoa (His Excellency Mr Gareth Hoar), the Rt Hon David Lammy MP (Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs), the Hon Fiame Naomi Mata’afa MP (Prime Minister of the Independent State of Samoa) and Ms Miriama Betham-Malielegaoi (Chief of Protocol of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Samoa).

The King and Queen attended a Ceremonial Welcome and His Majesty inspected a Guard of Honour.

The Prime Minister of the Independent State of Samoa was subsequently received by His Majesty.

St James’s Palace

The Duchess of Edinburgh, Patron, the Scar Free Foundation, this afternoon visited Swansea University’s Simulation and Immersive Learning Centre, Singleton Park Campus, Swansea University, Swansea, and was received by His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of West Glamorgan (Mrs Louise Fleet).

Palace of Holyroodhouse

The Princess Royal this afternoon attended a Bicentenary Commemorative Service to recognise the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service in St Giles’ Cathedral, Edinburgh, and was received by His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the City of Edinburgh (Councillor Robert Aldridge, the Rt Hon the Lord Provost).

Her Royal Highness, Patron, Vine Trust, later received Dr Claire Bawn upon assuming her appointment as Chairman and the Reverend William McPherson upon relinquishing his appointment as Chief Executive Officer and Mr Kenneth Holt upon assuming the appointment.

The Princess Royal, Patron, Moredun Foundation, subsequently received Professor Julie Fitzpatrick upon relinquishing her appointment as Chief Executive Officer and Dr Tom McNeilly upon assuming the appointment.

Her Royal Highness, Royal Patron, Leuchie Forever Fund, this evening held a Benefactors’ Dinner at the Palace of Holyroodhouse.

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Gloucester, Royal Patron, the British Museum, this afternoon received Dr Robert Nicholas Cullinan (Director).

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Kent, Royal Colonel, 1st Battalion The Rifles, this morning received Lieutenant Colonel Simon Burkill upon assuming his appointment as Commanding Officer.
