COURT CIRCULAR

Buckingham Palace

The Lord Parker of Minsmere had an audience of The King this afternoon, delivered up his Wand and Insignia of Office as Lord Chamberlain and took leave upon relinquishing his appointment as Lord Chamberlain.

The Lord Benyon had an audience of The King, kissed hands upon his appointment as Lord Chamberlain and received from His Majesty the Wand and Insignia of Office when The King invested him with the Insignia of a Knight Grand Cross of the Royal Victorian Order.

Kensington Palace

The Prince of Wales this afternoon arrived at Cape Town International Airport and was received by the British High Commissioner to the Republic of South Africa (His Excellency Mr Antony Philipson).

His Royal Highness, Founder and President, the Earthshot Prize, later joined Young Environmentalists participating in the inaugural Earthshot Prize Climate Leaders Youth Programme at Rooftop on Bree, 170 Bree Street, Cape Town.

The Prince of Wales subsequently visited the Atlas Foundation at Ocean View Secondary School, Hydra Avenue, Ocean View, Cape Town.

St James’s Palace

The Duke of Edinburgh, Colonel, 1st Battalion London Guards, this morning received Lieutenant Colonel Christopher Sykes upon relinquishing his appointment as Commanding Officer and Lieutenant Colonel Russell Lewis upon assuming the appointment.

His Royal Highness, Patron, Tennis and Rackets Association, today received Mr Richard Compton-Burnett upon assuming his appointment as Chairman.

The Duchess of Edinburgh, Patron, England Hockey, this afternoon received Mr Royston Hoggarth upon relinquishing his appointment as Chairman and Ms Kathleen Russ upon assuming the appointment.

Kensington Palace

The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, Joint Patrons, this evening attended a Dinner “under Mars” in Gloucester Cathedral in aid of the Cathedral’s In Tune Organ and Music Campaign and were received by Dr Roger Head (Deputy Lieutenant of Gloucestershire).
