COURT CIRCULAR

Buckingham Palace

His Excellency Mr Shimane Gaokgethelwe Lawrence Kelaotswe was received in audience by The King today and presented the Letters of Recall of his predecessor and his own Letters of Commission as High Commissioner for the Republic of Botswana in London.

His Excellency Mr Ahmad Makaila was received in audience by His Majesty and presented the Letters of Recall of his predecessor and his own Letters of Credence as Ambassador from the Republic of Chad to the Court of St James’s.

His Excellency Dr Kyriacós Kouros was received in audience by The King and presented the Letters of Recall of his predecessor and his own Letters of Commission as High Commissioner for the Republic of Cyprus in London.

Mrs Kourou was also received by His Majesty.

Sir Philip Barton (Permanent Under-Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs) was present.

Kensington Palace

The Prince of Wales, Colonel, Welsh Guards, this morning visited the 1st Battalion at Salisbury Plain Training Area, Wiltshire.

St James’s Palace

The Duke of Edinburgh this morning visited the Ambassadors, the Peacocks Centre, Woking, and was received by Mr Mark Tantam (Deputy Lieutenant of Surrey).

His Royal Highness this afternoon visited the Lightbox, Chobham Road, Woking, and was received by Mrs Mary Creswell (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Surrey).

The Duke of Edinburgh, Patron, the Tennis and Rackets Association, later attended the Real Tennis British Open Men’s Doubles Final at the Queen’s Club, Palliser Road, London W14.

St James’s Palace

The Princess Royal this morning opened the Hospice UK National Conference at the Scottish Event Campus, Exhibition Way, Glasgow, and was received by His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the City of Glasgow (Councillor Jacqueline McLaren, the Rt Hon the Lord Provost).

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Gloucester, Patron, this morning formally opened Habitat for Humanity Great Britain’s first ReStore, 8-16 High Street, Romford, and was received by Mr Nicholas Bracken (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London).

His Royal Highness, Colonel-in-Chief, Royal New Zealand Army Medical Corps, later visited the Commonwealth War Graves Cemetery at St Andrew’s Church, 222 High Street, Hornchurch.

The Duke of Gloucester this afternoon visited the Royal British Legion Hornchurch Branch, 205 High Street, Hornchurch.

His Royal Highness, Honorary Air Marshal, Royal Air Force, afterwards visited the Royal Air Force Hornchurch Heritage Centre, 119-121 Suttons Lane, Hornchurch.

The Duchess of Gloucester, President, Royal School of Needlework, this morning received Dr Susan Kay-Williams upon relinquishing her appointment as Chief Executive and Ms Rhian Harris upon assuming the appointment.

Mrs P Wood (Chairman of the Board of Trustees) was present.
