COURT CIRCULAR

Buckingham Palace

The King this morning visited the Polish Social and Cultural Association, 238-246 King Street, London W6, and was received by His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London (Sir Kenneth Olisa), His Excellency Mr Piotr Wilczek (Ambassador from the Republic of Poland to the Court of St James’s) and the Chairman (Mr Marcin Kalinowski).

His Majesty viewed an art exhibition and attended a Reception for members of the Polish community in the United Kingdom.

The King, Royal Founding President, The King’s Trust, this afternoon received Ms Farah Mohamed (Chief Executive Officer, The King’s Trust Canada).

The King held a Council at 4.15pm.

There were present: the Rt Hon Lucy Powell MP (Lord President), the Rt Hon Shabana Mahmood MP (Lord Chancellor and Secretary of State for Justice), the Rt Hon Steven Reed MP (Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs) and the Rt Hon Joanna Stevens MP (Secretary of State for Wales).

Mr Richard Tilbrook was in attendance as Clerk of the Council.

The Rt Hon Sir Clive Alderton (Principal Private Secretary to Their Majesties) was in attendance.

The Rt Hon Lucy Powell MP had an audience of His Majesty before the Council.

The King this evening held a Reception at Buckingham Palace for the Civil Service.

The Duchess of Gloucester was present.

Kensington Palace

The Prince of Wales, Patron, Child Bereavement UK, this morning visited a Child Bereavement UK Centre at Ashley House, Ashley Way West, Widnes, and was received by His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Cheshire (Lady Redwood).

St James’s Palace

The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh today carried out engagements in Nepal.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Chairman, The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Foundation, this morning met young Nepali participants in Bhaktapur.

His Royal Highness afterwards visited Bhaktapur Durbar Square, Bhaktapur.

The Duke of Edinburgh this afternoon visited Incessant Rain Animation Studios, Kathmandu.

His Royal Highness, Chairman, The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Foundation, later held a Reception at the British Embassy in Kathmandu for young people who have achieved the Gold Standard in the Award.

The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh this evening attended a Reception given by His Majesty’s Ambassador to the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal (His Excellency Mr Robert Fenn) at the Residence in Kathmandu.

The Duchess of Edinburgh this morning visited the Maternity Wing of Bhaktapur Hospital, Bhaktapur.
Her Royal Highness later visited Maiti Nepal, Kathmandu.

The Duchess of Edinburgh this afternoon attended a Luncheon with Nepalese Women’s Rights activists at Dwarika’s Hotel, Battisputali Road, Kathmandu.

Her Royal Highness, Global Ambassador, International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness, subsequently visited Ridley Eye Foundation Nepal at Kirtipur Hospital, Kathmandu.

St James’s Palace

The Princess Royal, Patron, the Butler Trust, this morning visited Heathrow Immigration Removal Centre, Colnbrook Bypass, Harmondsworth, West Drayton, and was received by Ms Manju Malhi (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London).

Her Royal Highness, Commandant-in-Chief, today opened new offices at the Headquarters of the First Aid Nursing Yeomanry (Princess Royal’s Volunteer Corps), Wellington Barracks, Birdcage Walk, London SW1.

The Princess Royal this evening opened Urban Studies Institute Limited Hong Kong’s “China’s Untold D-Day Story” Exhibition at the Corporation of Trinity House, Trinity House, Tower Hill, London EC3.

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Gloucester, Royal Patron, World Monuments Fund Britain, this morning received Ms Hélène Marie Shafran (Chairman) and Mr Magnus von Wistinghausen (Executive Director).

His Royal Highness, Grand Prior, the Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem, this evening attended a Ceremony granting the Freedom of the City to Dr Ahmad Ma’ali (Chief Executive Officer, St John Eye Hospital) at Mansion House, Walbrook, London EC4.

The Duke of Gloucester, Grand Prior, the Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem, later attended the Saving Sight Banquet in aid of St John of Jerusalem Eye Hospital Group at Mansion House.
